Mo-Mo-Paradise Introduce
### Introduction / Overview
For those in San Diego craving an authentic and immersive Japanese hot pot experience, Mo-Mo-Paradise in Mira Mesa is a name that consistently comes up. This beloved restaurant specializes in the traditional Japanese "hot pot" styles of shabu shabu and sukiyaki, offering an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) format that promises both quality and abundance. Mo-Mo-Paradise is more than just a meal; it's a social and interactive dining event where you cook premium meats, fresh vegetables, and other delightful ingredients at your table in simmering, flavorful broths.
Many families, like one reviewer's, consider Mo-Mo-Paradise a frequent favorite, some even visiting multiple times a week. The core appeal lies in the "very good and fresh" quality of the meat and the impressive "assortment at the bar for vegetables, mushrooms, etc." Everything, from the produce to the various cuts of meat, consistently "looked and tasted fresh." The dining experience is complemented by a choice of four distinct broths, allowing diners to customize their hot pot adventure. While a recent experience highlighted an isolated concern regarding billing and a rare food handling issue, these instances appear to be deviations from the typical, overwhelmingly positive experiences that solidify Mo-Mo-Paradise as a highly recommended destination for a premium hot pot meal in a welcoming setting. The attentive and super-efficient staff further contribute to a generally "good experience" that keeps patrons coming back for more, even ending their meal with a delightful scoop of ice cream.

Mo-Mo-Paradise Reviews
My family and I love coming to Mo-Mo Paradise, I actually ate here twice this week. This review does not reflect our typical experience but a couple things happened last night at our visit. We dined with our two children and if you know about their policy, kids under 5 eat for free. Upon receiving our check we noticed that both children were charged when it only should have been 1. I worked in restaurants and thought this was quite deceptive behavior of the staff. They did not ask nor confirm the ages of our children and charged our 2 year old out right. Now if we didn’t check our bill we would have paid unnecessarily for her but our server fixed it right away upon request.Another issue I’ve never had but all of a sudden am dealing with is that my husband and I have been going to the bathroom all night since coming home from dinner. My daughters didn’t eat much of the meat just rice, udon and veggies so they haven’t complained of any stomach pains. But this has never happened to us before so something tells me that the food was not properly handled.I’m really skeptical about what happened last night and it wavers my faith in what’s been our favorite restaurant.Management please do better!
Apr 05, 2025 · Trinity JohnsonWent for AYCE lunch at 30 pp. The quality of the meat was very good and fresh. Assortment at the bar for vegetables, mushrooms, etc was very good. Everything looked and tasted fresh. Quality of meat and ingredients are good. 4 Broths to choose from for Shabu shabu. Staffs were attentive and super efficient. After we stuffed our faces, we got some ice cream too! Overall a good experience and we will be back.
Apr 02, 2025 · Pokemon MomMo-Mo Paradise, a renowned international franchise famous for its sukiyaki hotpot, has its only San Diego location here, and it doesn't disappoint. With a more upscale and modern decor than their LA County locations, it's a perfect spot for hotpot enthusiasts, especially if you're a fan of Sukiyaki and Shabu-shabu.Weekday lunch specials are more affordable than weekend, holiday, or evening prices, though they lack options like pork belly and chicken thighs. Be sure to arrive before 2 pm for lunch, as that’s the last seating time. We visited on a busy Sunday night, and despite the crowd, the experience was well worth it.Before starting the hotpot, I highly recommend the beef curry with rice and the AYCE beverages. You can even DIY your own milk tea, choosing from Matcha or Jasmine tea with toppings like crystal boba, coffee jelly, and red bean—a fun and customizable way to start your meal. You can choose one or two soup bases from Shabu-shabu, Tomato, Tonkotsu, or Sukiyaki—with Sukiyaki being my personal favorite for its rich, sweet flavor. At the Farmer's Market section, you can grab as many vegetables, tofu, noodles, and salad as you want. For the AYCE proteins, they offer beef chuck eye, beef short plate, beef eye of round, pork shoulder, pork belly, and chicken thigh. I particularly enjoyed the beef eye of round and pork shoulder—both leaner cuts that pair perfectly with the dipping egg mixture. The staff is friendly, though a bit overwhelmed due to the crowd, so we had to call them multiple times to order more protein. As a sweet finish, they offer ice cream, and the Rocky Road scoop, with its blend of chocolate and mochi, was a standout dessert. While the price is slightly higher, the quality of food, variety of options, and overall dining experience make it worth it for a great AYCE hotpot experience.
Oct 05, 2024 · Scott LeeWe loved it!! The food is simply delicious!! We highly recommend making reservations, and going during lunch time because is less busy. Josh our server was very attentive and helpful. It was our first time going, and his recommendation worked out great. For the amount of food we ate the price was reasonable. The place has a lot of parking. Looking forward to go back again. :)
Dec 17, 2023 · Liz RodriguezSoups bases were all good and clean. The shabu was kinda bland but what do I know. Being Chinese, with hot pots I'm accustomed to, just more bold flavors. Honestly the proteins were a bit underwhelming, but what saved it was the buffet style of other things you could throw in there. That was actually better than the meats...but not for $40+ per head. If I am going to eat out needs to be better than whatever I can do at home. Was nice to try but wouldn't optionally go back.
