Zushi Puzzle Reviews
Roger is incredible. His passion and love for flavors and his craft come through with every bite. This will be our new go-to sushi spot. Call and get reservations at the counter for omakase! It’s the best. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
May 25 · Terra LiuSat at the bar for my wife's bday omakase dinner and Roger, the sushi chef/owner, did not disappoint! Some of the best fish I've ever had, great conversation as well, Roger is very knowledgeable! Some of the major highlights. 2 kinds of uni on soft tofu (Roger prefers it this way and wow it's good), yellowtail nigiri, blue fin tuna a few ways , soft shell crab hand roll and last but not least a5 Japanese wagyu nigiri with shaved foie gras! Had about 15 courses each, came out to about $200 each and that's with a big bottle of sake, tax and tip. Worth every penny!
November 26 · Richard BronillaABSOLUTE MUST 🍣 Hands down the best sushi I have ever had in my entire life. Food, service and atmosphere 11/10. I’m truly not exaggerating one bit. Doesn’t look like much on the outside, but make sure you get a spot AT the bar with Chef Roger (sits about 6 people). The fish is so fresh, he will provide three different variations to a fish, coaching you on how to properly eat each dish, with a lesson on what makes it special. Each fish comes from a different part of the world, Scotland, Japan, Korea etc. He puts so much love and care into each dish, he explains that good food comes from the heart, not the mind. He has different sauces and garnishes, and it really changed my perspective on how I have been eating sushi. He has an amazing personality, very funny, you really connect with him, and it feels like a vip experience. We got lucky and got same day reservation but they told me, as well as reviews I saw, you need to call ahead. Wasn’t a cheap meal, but we did not care one bit. For this experience, it was worth every penny. He ended it with a wagyu sashimi with foie gras garnish, and we don’t eat dairy and he gave us sorbet for dessert as alternative. He also starts off asking for allergies and is very accommodating.
November 15 · Mik MProbably the most amazing sushi experience I’ve ever had.I’m definitely not a sushi aficionado or expert…but this was an incredible meal and experience. The omakase with Chef Roger was all so delicious - but my highlights were the aged toro sashimi and the wagyu sashimi with foie gras shavings to finish the meal. The salmon roe and soft shell crab handroll to start the meal are also notable mentions, as was the wasabi ice cream for desert.(And I’m not longer an “uni virgin”, according to Chef Roger.)The most expensive meal I’ve had in San Francisco this trip, but I can’t recommend this place enough!
October 08 · Michael Richard GreeneIt was such a wonderful and enjoyable experience. Roger and the rest of the staff are incredibly loving and friendly. We could not have asked for a more memorable experience. Thank you so much for making us feel so loved and cared for!Ask for the sushi bar seats - you will not regret it! It is your very own omasake experience, but better because in addition to really good sushi, you get to enjoy Roger's company. Highly recommend the aged tuna, Norwegian mackerel, and Wagyu nigiri! Also, make sure to leave some room for their in-house ice cream and desserts!
