Food was immaculate and servers were very kind. Despite it being 730 pm and what I would imagine to be a very busy time, we were able to get our food promptly. That all said, the main thing prompting me in posting this review is having seen a full grown man snap at a waitress over a bowl of soup, (an issue which she quickly offered to resolve) followed by about 15 minutes of complaining.My guy, if you decided to post a bad review over a bowl of soup at rush hour at a restaurant, shame on you. This place is great.

Missed our train and used the time to get a lunch bento box at Akari. Wonderful fresh, shining flavours and kind service. The food was far better than some of the fancy restaurants we got to in the city near our office. Looking for an opportunity to come back. If I lived in Poughkeepsie, I’d be there a lot.

First time and I was in awe! The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing, very friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is a little small, but I love how they utilized the space. The food was very good 8/10 for me. From the apps to the entree, everything was delicious. It was my first time trying sushi and I was not disappointed. I will definitely be back here again. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to try a creative, new spin on Japanese cuisines. The food was served very hot, and the service was very quick.

I wanted to try a bunch of Japanese-style fish that I think I hadn't had before, so I ordered sea bass, mackerel, surf clam, & fluke. I also have rarely had seared tuna. None of them disappointed at all! Only thing missing was beer, sake, or green tea.
