Asahi Sushi

506 Livingston St, Norwood, NJ 07648, USA

4.0
It’s an Americanized version of raw fish eatery, the Sashimi is noteworthy.👎👎👎 BUT the seafood called rolls CANNOT / MUST NEVER BE CALLED SUSHI, ESPECIALLY THE ONES DOUSED IN SAUCE.*** Sushi is clean simple cuts of fresh fish. And the rice would be Tamanishiki or Koshihikari premium varieties of short-grain rice. The amount of rice would be minimal and the FISH IS KING.*** Real Sushi Rolls are always wrapped in Nori, NO SAUCES.The place is an all-you-can-eat concept, which draws quite a crowd. There’s a menu sheet on which one ticks what one wants.👍 The one good thing about the menu is that there’s nothing of that horrid cheese so common in raw fish eateries in America.🫤🫤🫤 the tricky thing are rolls, several are doused in sauces… SO TO REALLY SAVOR THE FLAVOR OF FISH, INSIST ON NO SAUCE.👎👎👎 a common complaint seems to be the large amount of rice👎👎👎 the tempura has a thick batter🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 the WORST FAUX PAS IS THE SO-CALLED CRABMEAT, which is FAKE CRAB as is admitted by the serves.Sashimi is notable👏👏👏👏👏, regular cuts and quiet fresh. BUT choices are limited. All the rolls are the inside out, some more tasty than others. Some have thinner layer of rices (which should be) than others…Service is good. The price is right. - A V (globetrotter)
