It’s more than just a place to grab a quick meal; it's a warm, welcoming experience delivered by genuinely "nice people" who care about their customers.
What truly sets Bento Woman apart is their mastery of teriyaki sauce, described as having an "ideal umami taste" that's "just right"—neither overly salty nor sweet. This meticulous attention to flavor extends to every dish, from their "perfectly cooked and tender beef teriyaki" to their satisfying udon noodles. While it operates primarily as a takeout spot, the friendly service and generous portions make every order a delightful experience. If you're in the market for authentic, home-style Japanese and Korean comfort food that feels like it’s made with care, Bento Woman is your new go-to.
Bento Woman is conveniently situated at 1500 S Western Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90006, USA. This puts it strategically along Western Avenue, a major north-south artery in Los Angeles, between Pico and Venice Boulevards. Its location is easily accessible for residents across different parts of the city. A significant advantage for customers is the presence of a mid-sized parking lot directly in front of the establishment. This is a considerable convenience in Los Angeles, where parking can often be challenging, ensuring a smooth and stress-free pickup experience.
While there's no traditional dining room, the setup is highly efficient for its primary focus: takeout. The unique ordering process involves ringing a doorbell at a window, which adds a personal touch to the experience. For those relying on public transportation, Western Avenue is well-served by numerous bus lines, making Bento Woman easily reachable for many Angelenos. Its accessible location and dedicated parking make it an ideal stop for a quick lunch or a convenient dinner to enjoy at home.
Bento Woman is primarily focused on providing high-quality, delicious meals with efficiency and exceptional customer service. Here's a breakdown of their services:

- Delivery: Bento Woman partners with popular third-party delivery services like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Postmates, allowing customers to enjoy their authentic dishes from the comfort of their home or office across Los Angeles.
- Extensive Bento Menu: Their specialty lies in a wide array of Japanese bento dishes, including various Teriyaki Plates (Chicken, Beef, Salmon, Spicy Pork, Spicy Chicken) and Combo Bentos (e.g., Beef and Chicken Teriyaki). Bento Woman has earned a loyal following in Los Angeles due to several distinguishing features that set it apart:
- Authentic & Perfectly Balanced Teriyaki: The chicken teriyaki is a standout, praised for its "ideal umami taste" that's "just right," avoiding being "overly salty or sweet." It's compared favorably to teriyaki from renowned spots in Gardena and Torrance, known for their authentic Japanese flavors.
- Exceptional Customer Service: The owner/staff are consistently described as "very nice," "kindly," "generously offered a sample," "welcoming and friendly," and providing "exceptional service." This warm interaction significantly enhances the customer experience.
- Generous Portions & Value: Customers appreciate the "decent amount of chicken" in their dishes and the overall "good portion of food" for the price. The Combo Bento at a reasonable price, including multiple sides, exemplifies their value.
- High Quality Sides: The accompanying side salad, steamed rice, macaroni salad, and fermented veggies are noted for not disappointing and being "perfectly cooked and tender."
- Fusion Menu: While specializing in Japanese bentos, the inclusion of Korean staples like Jjampong and Kimchi, and a "Korean woman" owner, suggests a delightful fusion that caters to diverse palates.
- Unique Ordering Experience: The "ring their doorbell at their window" ordering method provides a distinct, personal, and efficient interaction.
- Focus on Freshness: The fact that food is prepared quickly and customers comment on its freshness indicates a commitment to quality ingredients and timely preparation.
- Thoughtful Touches: Small gestures like being given "little packets filled with goodies" with a "Happy New Year message" demonstrate a caring approach to customers.
- Dedicated Parking Lot: The presence of a mid-sized parking lot directly in front is a significant convenience for customers in busy Los Angeles.
Bento Woman provides great value through its generous portions and reasonable pricing. While explicit, recurring promotions aren't always widely advertised, here's what you can expect or look out for:
- Reasonably Priced Combos: The Combo Bento (with beef and chicken teriyaki) at around $15.99 plus tax, including multiple sides, offers excellent value as a complete meal. Other bento plates are also competitively priced, ranging from $14.99 to $19.99 for a full meal.
- Online Delivery Platform Deals: Bento Woman frequently participates in promotions on platforms like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Fantuan. This can make their already well-priced meals even more affordable.

Bento Woman Reviews
At last, today is my first time ordering lunchat Bento Woman! Conveniently located along Western between Pico and Venice, they have an extensive menu of Japanese bento dishes and some Korean staples. Interestingly, to place your order, you'll ring their doorbell at their window. A lady answered the window and kindly took my order of the Combo Bento (it comes with beef and chicken teriyaki). It was reasonably priced at $15.99 plus tax with a side salad, scoop of steamed rice, macaroni salad and a few fermented veggies. As I waited for my order, the lady generously offered me a sample of their chicken teriyaki.I was immediately impressed with their chicken teriyaki because it had an ideal umami taste. Other places have their sauce either overly salty or sweet. Bento Woman has it just right, as it's almost identical to the teriyaki I tasted in Gardena and Torrance. As I got my order, the lady kindly asked me on how the chicken was. I immediately replied, "it's very tasty!"I thanked her for her exceptional service and took home my order. As I got home, I continued to savor the chicken teriyaki and their perfectly cooked and tender beef teriyaki. The side salad, rice, macaroni salad and veggies did not disappoint. Moving forward, Bento Woman will be my go-to spot for some authentic and high quality teriyaki bentos, just south of KTown.
Apr 23, 2025 · Gene AlejoI like to support local businesses, especially when they are owned by nice people. Bento woman is just that. The woman that took our order was very nice.I ordered the Japanese noodle plate they sell. I forget what it’s called lol. I had them add chicken to it. They give you a decent amount of chicken. The noodles look like spaghetti noodles. They put too many onions and bell peppers into the noodles. My only gripe. I tried their chicken teriyaki too. It’s good. My dish was under $15 and it’s a good portion of food.In a few days it will be a new year. We were given little packets filled with goodies. There was a Happy New Year message on it. I thought this was really nice of them. They have boba drinks and things like croissants, but I just ordered a bottle of water. They have no dining room, just some chairs so you can sit while you wait for your order. Because of this they have no atmosphere. They have a mid sized parking lot.
Dec 29, 2024 · Anna V GaribayLove this place. I usually call ahead and place my order, and they always have it ready for me. They are seriously so great with customer service & the food is so fresh and delicious every single time. I would eat here everyday if I could. I recommend the spicy dumpling soup!
Feb 18, 2025 · Glad.MFirst time here and probably not my last. I had to teriyaki chicken with a side of California roll. The teriyaki chicken was better than I thought it'd be, chicken wasn't dry and rice was fluffy, but too much sauce for my taste. Will be asking for less sauce next time.As for the California roll more cucumbers needed, missing that crunch factor. Other than that taste was pretty good for the price. Note, order comes with 8 pieces. Ate one before taking the pic.
Jul 19, 2021 · James ShinAn extra star because they were so nice. This place has been on my list for forever but they close early (7pm) so I kept missing them. New owners took this over a year ago (2020?) and took some items off the menu (Udon and Ramen) and added some Korean staples like Galbi. I tried the Chicken Teriyaki, the Pork Teriyaki, the Beef Teriyaki and the Spicy Chicken across two combos. Everything was very good but I loved the Chicken Teriyaki the most. The Bento boxes are beautiful w/ rice, salad, macaroni salad and some pickled veggies. Great experience and I’ll return.
