We decided to celebrate our 3rd anniversary here.We found parking around the corner on a side street and arrived at the restaurant on time. The staff greeted us warmly and led us to our seats at the counter.We both ordered the Oki plus a couple more supplements. I got the premium sake flight, while my boyfriend got their ginger beer.We savored and enjoyed every single bite. The highlights of the meal were the nori butter on salmon nigiri, the foie gras on scallop, and the uni carbonara. Every piece of fish was fresh and tasty. We appreciate that they were sourced from different countries/areas.They gave us Barley ice cream with a little taiyaki to end the meal. Absolutely worth it.

The service, the accommodations, the little things that made it special and of course the food. Absolutely top notch quality. Simple yet very complex, the flavors blew us away. The uni toro hand roll was so fresh and delicious, almost ordered 2 but got too full. Only thing that wasn't outstanding was the dessert. We tried an omakase course called "The Oki."Unlike other high-end, Japanese-owned sushi restaurants in SF that import most of their fish from Tsukiji—resulting in higher prices—this place sources from various regions, like tuna from Mexico, allowing for more affordable pricing.I quickly noticed that their challenge lies in the fish and condiment pairings. At first glance, it looks like a traditional omakase, but I could sense some imbalance in flavors with certain nigiri. Of course, taste is subjective—but personally, I still prefer the fish quality from Japan. Some bites had great harmony, while others felt a bit off.They have a solid sake and beer selection, and the service is friendly and attentive.

They have several omakase options, a slightly smaller menu for $95, a larger menu for $120, and a vegetarian option which I do not remember the price of.I ordered the oki menu ($120) which started with an oyster, followed by crab salad, sashimi, 12 pc nigiri, and ended with a mugicha ice cream for dessert with a mini taiyakiOverall good quality + flavor food. It was my first time trying snail caviar atop the oyster. They have a good variation of bold and more classic flavors for nigiri, and I would say more inventive and less traditional than most other omakase spots I’ve been to. The only minor feedback for the nigiri is that I noticed that the sizes were not very uniform for the nigiri’s since I was dining with a few friends and the rice did fall apart a little, but not a big deal. There’s also a supplemental menu which I ordered the uni carbonara which everyone raved about, I think the uni sauce + flavor was good but we all agreed that the noodles were on the softer side so not sure if we just had a batch which was slightly overcooked. Dessert was a delightful end.Overall would come back again.
