CHOO SANDO operates with a focus on efficiency and quality, primarily catering to a grab-and-go model but also offering limited dine-in options. Their services are designed for convenience without compromising on freshness:
- Takeout Sushi and Sandos: This is their primary service, offering perfectly prepared sushi boxes and Japanese Sandos ready for convenient pickup. The items are clearly labeled with descriptions and prices, making the selection process incredibly easy.
- Limited Dine-in Seating: While the focus is on takeout, a few tables are available inside for customers who wish to eat their freshly prepared items right away.

CHOO SANDO has carved out a unique niche in the Austin dining scene thanks to several standout features:

The exceptional portion-to-price ratio and the complimentary items (miso soup, homemade soy sauce) are, in themselves, a form of ongoing value for customers. Given their limited quantities and high demand, their "special offers" often revolve around ensuring availability of their popular items, particularly through their pre-order system. They frequently communicate updates and new offerings via their social media channels, so following them on platforms like TikTok is recommended for the most current information and any announcements regarding new menu items or special omakase boxes.

CHOO SANDO Reviews
This is THE PLACE to go for takeout sushi. The fish tastes as fresh with good flavor. I appreciated the complimentary miso soup and homemade soy sauce too. There's a few tables inside to eat after you grab your food. The prices are also very reasonable for the high quality of the ingredients. Also shout out to this concept where everything is laid out with descriptions and prices so you know exactly what you’re getting. Even better than a menu with photos.
Feb 23, 2025 · Karen QuachAlways saw this small shop advertised and decided to try it! We went to the opening, but before they opened, they had a LINE. It is amazing to see how well a small shop was doing to bring in a crowd. The shop was friendly, clean and very welcoming. Everything was labeled clearly and all freshly made. Depending on what you're looking for could be anywhere between $12-18 per item which honestly I believe is fair for the amount of work and ingredients that goes into them. My partner and I each loved what we selected, but our personal favorite was the strawberry sando (the dessert looking one). Definitely a fun experience and recommend everyone to try at least once. Hope to go back sometime! :)
Apr 05, 2025 · The NoblesRead about this place so we decided to try it- I do wish we'd gotten the sushi as well to try as we only got the sando/ sandwiches. The Soft Shell Crab sando was excellent. I was worried it would be soggy as it is fried but it was not. Excellent pairing with the sauce and the veggies on it and the bread was very good- a little sweet but not too much so. The sushi looked so good - will be back to try that. The sandos are fairly large portions so we only got those. They also have a dessert sando that looked good. More reason to return. They have 3 sauces for your sandos if you need, mine did not need it but nice to have options. There are seats inside as well as a few stools/bar outside. Apparently there is typically a line but I guess we got there at eh right time - very little wait.
May 24, 2025 · Katherine CainThe attention to detail is insane. The sushi was fresh - I particularly loved the seared salmon. The sandos were all amazing. I got the sampler with the spicy katsu, lobster, and tamago. Everything was perfection, the milk bread was perfectly fluffy and sweet, the lobster wasn’t fishy. The packaging was tasteful and intentional too.
May 17, 2025 · Jeannie ParkI loved this! Worth for me to drive almost 1 hours to be here. Every piece took care with full of diligence. All of ingredients melted out as the 1st bite. Never regret for taking time to be here. Will be back soon.Sending ❤️❤️—>Chefs and staffs
