Demiya Introduce
For those in the San Jose area seeking an authentic and satisfying Japanese culinary experience, Demiya stands out as a must-visit destination. While its primary offering is delicious Japanese cuisine, one might wonder how a platform category like "Doctor Near Me" could relate. In the context of "Doctor Near Me" as a broad platform for local services and goods, Demiya would be categorized under "Restaurants" or "Food Services." Just as one seeks a trusted doctor for well-being, Demiya provides a form of culinary well-being and satisfaction, offering a comforting and delicious escape. Located conveniently at 1145 S De Anza Blvd, San Jose, CA 95129, USA, Demiya has garnered a loyal following for its distinctive flavors and generous portions.
The restaurant's phone number is (408) 877-7883, and they can also be reached via mobile at +1 408-877-7883. These contact details make it easy for patrons to inquire about wait times, make reservations if available, or place orders for takeout.
Upon entering Demiya, patrons are immediately greeted by a wonderful atmosphere that contributes significantly to the overall dining experience. Customer reviews frequently highlight the inviting environment, making it an ideal spot for various occasions, from casual lunches to special celebrations. One reviewer specifically noted bringing their daughter and her friends for a birthday, emphasizing the pleasant surroundings that enhanced their gathering. This suggests a space that is comfortable, perhaps with thoughtful decor that evokes a sense of modern Japanese aesthetics, allowing diners to relax and enjoy their meal.
The service at Demiya, while sometimes requiring a wait, is a key part of the experience. Customer feedback provides valuable insights into how to best navigate the dining process. It's crucial to understand their check-in system. As one customer eloquently put it, "The waiting time could be a while. Don’t forget to check in after you place an order. We didn’t know the first time we came for dinner, so it seemed like our dish started to be made after checking in, so we waited more than 30 minutes to get our dish." This tip is invaluable for first-time visitors, highlighting the importance of checking in promptly upon arrival, especially if an order has been placed beforehand. The same reviewer noted a significantly reduced wait time of about 10 minutes for lunch when they ordered food in advance and checked in right away, suggesting efficiency for those who plan ahead.
Demiya's features truly shine through its exceptional food. The restaurant has quickly become a go-to for many, particularly those with a craving for authentic Japanese curry. One customer, having moved from NYC to the Bay Area, raved that Demiya's curry was "one of the best Japanese curry dishes I haven’t had for a long time." This high praise speaks volumes about the quality and authenticity of their curry offerings, distinguishing them in a competitive culinary landscape.
A stand-out dish that frequently receives accolades is the "Tegone Cheese in Hamburg curry rice." This dish is described as an absolute "must order" and is so good that one reviewer felt it "could be a totally separate dish because either the cheese hamburger or the curry rice tasted so awesome." This indicates a masterful balance of flavors and textures, with the rich, savory hamburger patty complemented by the flavorful curry and perfectly cooked rice. The portion size for this dish, and indeed for many others at Demiya, is notably generous. Customers are advised to "come hungry," as the "serving size was very large" and "portion was really big and satisfying." This commitment to ample portions ensures diners leave feeling completely satisfied.
Another popular and well-received dish is the "Curry Udon - Tonkatsu & Sunny-side up." This offers a different take on their renowned curry, combining it with thick, chewy udon noodles, crispy tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet), and a perfectly cooked sunny-side up egg. The balance of flavors in this dish is also praised, with one customer noting that "the curry was just right in the udon, not too heavy and salty." Interestingly, a preference was expressed for dipping the tonkatsu from the udon into the heavier curry sauce of the "Tegone Cheese in Hamburg curry rice," suggesting a delightful interplay of different curry profiles available on the menu.
In terms of promotional information, while specific ongoing deals aren't detailed in the provided reviews, the consistent positive feedback on generous portions and high-quality ingredients acts as a strong, organic promotion. The word-of-mouth recommendations, particularly from those who have sought out and found excellent Japanese curry after extensive searching, serve as powerful testimonials. The emphasis on delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere is the primary draw for Demiya.
In summary, Demiya is a highly recommended Japanese restaurant in San Jose, celebrated for its delicious and authentic Japanese curry, including the popular Tegone Cheese in Hamburg curry rice and Curry Udon. The restaurant offers a wonderful atmosphere for various dining occasions, and while popular, managing wait times effectively by checking in promptly can enhance the experience. Their commitment to large, satisfying portions ensures that every diner leaves feeling content. For anyone in the Bay Area looking for a truly satisfying Japanese meal, Demiya at 1145 S De Anza Blvd is a culinary destination worth exploring, fitting perfectly within the broader "Doctor Near Me" concept as a provider of local, high-quality experiences for community well-being.

Came here for my daughter’s birthday and her friends. Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food! Serving size was very large! Come hungry.
Nov 04, 2024 · Cea KelleyI’ve been craving for Japanese curry recently and Demiya was the place that first pop up in my head! This was the 2nd time I visited Demiya. Their curry was one of the best Japanese curry dishes I haven’t had for a long time since I moved to Bay Area from NYC half a year ago.The waiting time could be a while. Don’t forget to check in after you place an order. We didn’t know the first time we came for dinner, so it seemed like our dish started to be made after checking in, so we waited more than 30 minutes to get our dish. This time we ordered food before going in and checked in right away when we were there. It took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready. This time it was for lunch, so it could be different.Tegone Cheese in Hamburg curry rice is a must order. I feel like this could be a totally separate dish because either the cheese hamburger or the curry rice tasted so awesome. The portion was really big and satisfying. My husband ordered Curry Udon - Tonkatsu &Sunny-side up. The curry was just right in the udon, not too heavy and salty. He loved it. But he loved dipping his tonkatsu into my curry because he thought it was a better combination to have tonkatsu with heavier curry sauce.
Jun 05, 2022 · I-Cheng LeeThe first time I went to demiya was a long time ago at a different location before this one opened. After this one opened I felt it didn't taste as good as I remembered the other location being, and then when the pandemic hit, I felt it was even worse with options being super limited, but it was never bad. I just went again today and it was super tasty, they seem to be back up to speed. I definitely recommend demiya if you're craving Japanese curry, especially now that curry house is closed. I like adding some vegetables to my curry like mushrooms and eggplant since otherwise I feel it's a bit plain for me. Their menchi katsu and tonkatsu are both great. I'd skip on the takoyaki though.
Feb 05, 2023 · Elaine WangAlways like Japanese curry. This is a self service style, with indoor seating. Remember to check in with the staff after you order online if you are eating in. There is a bit of wait for the food, but worthwhile. The fried pork abd chicken were both done nicely, the curry sauce was flavorful. The buger styled curry also was delicious. Tried their chicken curry cheese bake, huge portion, a bit heavy, nonetheless, quite delicious. Service staff was very friendly.
May 04, 2023 · Tammy LiuThe curry sauce is too thin. We can understand that they placed the deep pork on the top of the rice. However, about the udon set. They placed the deep fried pork on the plate without using a net. Therefore, the bottom is soggy. As a restaurant which is specialized on deep fried pork and curry, both of the pork and curry are not good at all.The order system is confusing. We ordered from our phone and then needed to NOTIFY them that we placed the order.
