Doko Reviews
I recently visited Doko in Houston, and it was a really good experience overall! The atmosphere was great—modern yet cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The menu offers a variety of unique dishes, and the flavors didn’t disappoint. I especially enjoyed the Nasu eggplant, Hamachi crudo, the chicken fat rice was interesting but have had better fried rice before. Tebasaki chicken wings were nice but could not taste the yuzu enough. I enjoyed the Gochujung kFC- the spice and the crispiness of the wings was perfect. Definitely loved the bluefin otoro, madai, Hamachi, unagi and Kinoko! We ended with a delicious cheesecake.I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes and would recommend it to anyone looking for a flavorful, enjoyable meal.

Apr 05, 2025 · Candra CalvinWhat a sweet little surprise! Literally tucked into a small side street near Allan Parkway Park. I can’t even remember how I found out about this place! Look at the plating of that sashimi dish - on ice in a bamboo tray with a with a floral arrangement, absolutely one of a kind. Came here for a girls night out and it was absolutely lovely. Love the decor, staff and food.
May 28, 2025 · Golden EyeI loved this restaurant’s cozy, eclectic atmosphere. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and the food was overall delicious. Some standouts include the chicken fat rice and the chef’s choice nigiri. They also had some great lunch set deals, and they have several options in their yakitori menu for non-sushi eaters as well. Overall, the presentation and execution of detail was incredible. I would definitely recommend trying this place out!
May 11, 2025 · Alex ShaeFan of Handies so I had to come check out Doko. Cute interior and love the booth style seats at the sushi bar. Everyone there was friendly and delivered great service. The chutoro nigiri was super delicious and almost rivaled/got close to Katami’s version. The edamame, the chicken wing yakitori was juicy and bomb, kani maki with some of that chili garlic sauce on top, and some surprise crudo from the chef made it that much more special.
