Situated amidst offices, shops, and other local attractions, Donburi is an ideal spot for a quick and satisfying lunch break during the workday or a casual dinner after exploring the city.

Donburi Reviews
If I could give 10 stars, I would. I've never had more authentic Japanese food in America! I got the mix katsudon donburi and my friend got the curry ebi katsudon. Both were so delicious and perfectly portioned! I WILL be returning here again. Also great vibes - you order at a kiosk, then head upstairs until your food is ready. Plus you can eat while people watching on the street below.
March 27 · Skye WibergThis was my second visit, and I really enjoyed my first time here. The food was great.Unfortunately, today’s experience was a bit disappointing. While the first bite with the eel was fine, the chicken was quite chewy and dry, which was unexpected since it was very tender during my last visit. It tasted like the chicken had been fried earlier in the day and wasn’t freshly made.Additionally, there was a mosquito that kept bothering me throughout the meal, and I ended up with three bites.
May 18 · Namhee LeeI have walked past DONBURI uncountable number of times and did just that, walk past. But today I was in the mood for something different, something a touch spicy so I looked up their menu and decided on their Curry Tofu Katsudon and I have now found a new favorite spot. The dish was well packaged and presented. Quite a novel packaging of the dish. Included were chopsticks and napkins! Including napkins is a big thing for me and it is amazing how many food establishments don’t include them with their takeout orders. But back to the food: Delicious! The seasoning of the curry was flavorful with just enough spice and heat. The rice was well cooked and in no way mushy. The pickled vegetables were a fine complement to the other flavors. Looking forward to trying other menu items.
March 25 · David ZLunch at Donburi – A Taste of Tokyo in Every BiteI stopped by Donburi for a quick lunch and was genuinely impressed. I ordered the Butadon, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The pork was perfectly cooked—tender yet slightly charred on the edges, giving it a smoky depth that balanced beautifully with the sweet-salty glaze. Topped with toasted sesame seeds and a generous sprinkle of fresh green onions, every bite had layers of flavor and texture. The wasabi was true to the menu’s promise—authentically fresh, with that unmistakable zing that elevates the entire dish. A touch of pickled ginger added a colorful and flavorful contrast.Service was fast and efficient, ideal for a mid-day meal. The interior is clean and simple, with a minimalist decor that adds to the charm rather than distracts—exactly the kind of unpretentious setting you’d expect to find tucked away in a Tokyo neighborhood. It's the kind of place that reminds you food doesn’t need to be fancy to be deeply satisfying.Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quick, authentic Japanese bite with heart and soul. I’ll definitely be back.
April 02 · Dario MirskiPlaces like these are so hard to come by. Good portions, fast service, fresh & authentic donburi. I wish Richmond had a place this great. Definitely will be eating here every time I come to visit DC from now on!
