Fugu Sushi Reviews
I've been coming here for over 9 years, several times a year whenever I'm in the area. Unfortunately, this place has been going downhill with each visit. The service is no longer what it used to be, and the quality of the food has noticeably declined. A few days ago, I stopped by for lunch — and it was a complete disappointment. Everything I ordered tasted sour, which clearly suggests the ingredients were not fresh. The soup I ordered was, without exaggeration, the worst I’ve ever had. It was sour, and out of what should have been ten ingredients, there were only two: some clearly old meat and noodles. It looked and tasted like leftovers dumped into a bowl — careless and unhygienic.I mentioned to the staff that I didn’t eat the soup at all and that the portion was large but inedible. They didn’t even apologize — and still charged me for everything. No courtesy, no accountability. The dining area was literally empty — I was the only guest — yet my order took over 30 minutes to arrive. Behind the counter were two chefs making rolls, one waitress doing something behind the bar, and another sitting and eating. At one point, an elderly man and woman came out from the back (presumably the kitchen), both in home clothes and slippers, and started wandering around the dining room out of boredom. It honestly felt like I had walked into someone’s private family home — a multigenerational Chinese household with grandparents, children, and grandchildren — not a professional restaurant.Sadly, this place has completely lost its standards. I do not recommend it.
May 01, 2025 · Dmytro ZhurbaThis place is decent. First, walk in is dark and with strong sushi rice smell if you like it. The food is not as fresh as it use to be and the portion of food cut off a lot especially the hamachi karma. Quality, environment, price and clean had downgraded, you are getting 2 stars from me
Oct 23, 2021 · Joanne LLove love LOVE this spot! Delicious and affordable sushi made by the friendliest people! If you’re ever in Brooklyn, go here you’ll love it!
Apr 12, 2025 · Alex ModricOrdered food for take out. The food was ready on time. Tried Dynamite and Spicy Tuna Bowl. Both were okay. Dynamite had too much onion to my liking, other than that it was fine. Tuna Bowl came with some shredded cucumbers and was also okay. The portions are very small so mind that when you pick what you order.
Jul 29, 2019 · LanaOutdated interior with a dirty falling apart sign canopy outside. Half of the restaurant is filled with restaurant supplies and boxes. Some food is prepared right in the middle of the restaurant as you can see on a picture that is cucumber. Sushi bar is filled with some supplies too. Sushi tastes decent.... If management clean up this place I will change my rating after I review
