Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Reviews
Bryan P was our server and he was actually the best ever! He recommended so many super good meats and side dishes to us and they were absolutely amazing! Super good energy and was an angel. Meat quality was really good and the beef tongue definitely was my favorite. 10/10 would go again with friends :)!
Jan 04, 2025 · Maryjane MorfinThe food was great, the service was horrible, we ordered a lunch combo for 2 that comes with 2 soups, 2 cups of rice, salad bowl, and 6 servings of meat. We had to ask for the rice which was not delivered, no one came to check on us through out the meal even though there wasn't many customers at the time and when we called for service and asked for a water refill we did not get it. I'm pretty sure we were supposed to get desert as part of the combo, which we did not get. Servers were too busy chatting amongst each other than caring for their guests.P.S. the food was great!
Dec 28, 2024 · Luke PakulaFirstly, let me say that this place is popular. Unless you got a reservation, don't bother trying to walk in. Even with a reservation, expect a 20 minute wait.Secondly, the service here is amazing. The staff is friendly and professional and you will definitely feel cared for.Ok. Now let me talk about the food. To be fair it is well-priced and the portion sizes are generous. BUT OH LORD IS EVERYTHING SALTY. Like holy crap, it feels like the entire kitchen fell into a giant salt container. I don't know why but I had to water everything down before grilling it just to get the taste of SALT out. I mean, I'm sure they meant for it to taste like teriyaki but god damn did that salt extremely overpower everything. I don't understand why they felt the need to over salt everything but they did and it makes the food barely edible. I hate to leave food on the table but I couldn't imagine taking it to go. I asked the server about the saltiness and they replaced the food, but the second round was still incredibly salty. I had to drink three glasses of water to get the saltiness out of my mouth.Maybe I offended the chef somehow and he took his salty rage out on me personally, but I probably won't be coming back to this location. I've had better experiences at the same restaurant in Huntington Beach. All in all this was a good experience and I would come back here if I was in the neighborhood.
Mar 30, 2025 · Seth ChuppVery nice Japanese Style BBQ restaurant. Service was great. Waiters are professional and treat us as VIP. Food is also great. Many different styles of beef, pork, and chicken. They are all fresh and delicious. Default condiments have space to improve. Overall, that's a nice place to kill time with families.
