Hajime Introduce
For devoted ramen enthusiasts and those curious to explore the depths of Japanese culinary excellence, Hajime in Atlanta stands as a true revelation. More than just a ramen restaurant, Hajime has quickly garnered a reputation as Atlanta's "hidden gem" for its unwavering commitment to crafting authentic, deeply flavorful bowls of ramen that leave a lasting impression. With roots tracing back to the beloved Umaido in Suwanee, Hajime brings the same dedication to quality, from their meticulously prepared broths to their unique, house-made noodles. If you're on the hunt for a ramen experience that transcends the ordinary and nourishes both body and soul, Hajime is a must-visit destination in Georgia.
Hajime is conveniently located at 2345 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE #101, Atlanta, GA 30324, USA. This strategic address places it in a bustling and easily accessible part of Atlanta, making it a go-to spot for locals from various neighborhoods. Cheshire Bridge Road is a well-known thoroughfare, ensuring that finding Hajime is straightforward whether you're coming from nearby residential areas, venturing from other parts of the city, or meeting friends after work.
One of the distinct advantages of Hajime's location, particularly noted by customers, is the ample parking available in the lot. This alleviates the common stress of finding parking in busy urban areas, allowing for a hassle-free visit. The restaurant's accessibility also extends to its seating, offering "ample seating from bar seating to high tables and booth like areas," ensuring a comfortable experience for solo diners, couples, or families. This convenient location and easy accessibility contribute significantly to its appeal as a local favorite for authentic ramen.
Hajime focuses on delivering an exceptional ramen experience, complemented by a selection of popular Japanese appetizers and sides. Here’s a detailed look at what you can expect:
Dine-in Experience: Hajime offers a comfortable and welcoming dine-in atmosphere, suitable for various occasions, from a casual solo meal to a date night or a family outing. The interior is spacious and clean, described as having an inviting ambiance with subtle anime decor.
Authentic Ramen Selection: Their core offering revolves around meticulously crafted ramen bowls. They specialize in Hakata-style ramen, known for its thin, firm noodles and cloudy, rich tonkotsu (pork bone) broth, which is boiled for over 24 hours to maximize umami. Their menu includes:
Tonkotsu Ramen: The classic rich pork bone broth with chashu pork, green onions, mushrooms, and a soft-boiled egg.
Spicy Ramen Options: Praised for its depth of flavor, including "Spicy Tonkotsu" and "Ultra Spicy Ramen" (available in levels 1, 2, 3), and "Spicy Miso Ramen."
Unique Variations: Offerings like "Cabbage Ramen" (with creamy broth and garlic mayo), "Seafood Ramen" (light seafood broth with shrimp and squid), "Kimchi Ramen" (spicy broth with chicken-garlic katsu and stir-fried kimchi), "Wasabi Shoyu Ramen," and "Honey Miso Ramen."
Vegetarian and Pescatarian Options: Catering to diverse dietary needs, they offer various choices, including "Vegan" and "Spicy Vegan" ramen with soy milk-based vegetable soup, and a dedicated "Seafood broth available for guests who don't eat pork."
Homemade Noodles and Broth: A distinguishing feature is their commitment to crafting their own noodles and broth in-house daily. Their noodles are designed to be "more resistant to becoming NOBIRU" (soggy), allowing for a longer enjoyment of the ramen.
Appetizers and Side Dishes: To complement the ramen, Hajime offers a range of popular appetizers and side dishes, such as:
Tamago Yaki (Japanese omelette)
Edamame (steamed soybeans, also spicy garlic version)
Kakuni (braised pork belly, highly praised by customers)
Takoyaki (fried octopus dumplings, also jalapeno version)
Gyoza (pork and shrimp dumplings)
Tori Karaage (Japanese style fried chicken)
Brussels Sprouts (lightly battered tempura)
Kani Salad (crab salad)
Rice Bowls (Donburi) and Japanese Curry: Beyond ramen, they offer various rice bowls like Chasyu Don (pork over rice), Mentaiko Don (spicy cod roe over rice), Tori Karaage Don (fried chicken over rice), and Kakuni Don (braised pork belly over rice). Japanese curry options are also available.
Drink Selection: Hajime boasts an "impressive drink selection," including various teas (Green, Oolong, Peach, Jasmine), unique house-made ice teas (Plum, Honey Citrus), sodas, and possibly alcoholic beverages like beer and sake (as suggested by the "Ramen & Bar" in their name, though specific alcohol selections would require direct confirmation).
"Kae Dama" (Extra Noodles): A traditional ramen service that allows customers to order an extra serving of noodles when they've almost finished their first, ensuring you can enjoy every last drop of broth.
Takeout and Delivery: Hajime makes its delicious ramen and other dishes accessible for enjoyment at home, with takeout available and delivery services likely offered through third-party platforms.
Hajime has quickly established itself as a standout ramen spot in Atlanta, largely due to its distinct features and commitment to quality, as highlighted by glowing customer reviews:
Authentic and Delicious Ramen: Consistently praised for serving some of "the best ramen in Atlanta." The broth is described as "flavorful," "rich," and a "harmonious blend that won’t leave you feeling bloated," notably without relying on excessive MSG.
Homemade Noodles and Broth: A significant differentiator is their proud crafting of "their own noodles and broth." The noodles are specially developed to resist becoming soggy ("NOBIRU"), maintaining their perfect texture in the savory broth, a mark of true dedication to ramen perfection.
Decadent Pork Belly (Chashu): The braised pork belly (chashu) receives rave reviews, described as "pure decadence" and "melting in your mouth with each bite," indicating careful preparation and a secret cooking time that makes it truly exceptional.
Exceptional Spicy Noodles: For those who enjoy a kick, the "spicy noodles are hands-down the best," offering a "depth of flavor" that sets them apart.
Excellent Service: Customers report receiving "great service from the waitress," even during non-busy times, indicating a friendly and attentive staff.
Versatile Ambiance: The restaurant provides a welcoming and comfortable environment suitable for various occasions – "a place that you could bring the family, a date, or just treat yourself to a solo date." This flexibility makes it appealing to a wide range of patrons.
Impressive Drink Selection: The availability of an "impressive drink selection" adds to the overall experience, perfect for pairing with the meal.
Hidden Gem Status: Many perceive Hajime as a "hidden gem" for ramen lovers, suggesting a sense of discovering something truly special and high-quality away from mainstream chains.
While the provided customer reviews don't explicitly mention ongoing, fixed promotions like happy hour or daily specials, many ramen restaurants in the Georgia area offer various ways to enhance the dining experience or provide value. Based on common practices and Hajime's known offerings:
Lunch Combos: Many ramen restaurants offer special lunch combos during weekday lunch hours. Hajime's online menu indeed lists "Lunch Combo" options, which could include a ramen bowl paired with a side dish or appetizer at a special price (e.g., "Lunch Karaage Don Combo" or "Lunch Chashu Don Combo"). These are often available only for dine-in before a certain time (e.g., 3 PM).
Kae Dama (Extra Noodle Refill): This is a traditional Japanese ramen offering where guests can order an additional serving of noodles to finish their remaining broth. While not a "discount," it's a value-add that ensures maximum enjoyment of the rich broth and is a common feature at authentic ramen spots like Hajime.
Seasonal or Chef's Specials: Restaurants committed to quality and freshness, like Hajime (known for their secret pork belly recipe), may introduce seasonal ramen variations or chef's specials that highlight unique ingredients or flavors for a limited time.
For the most current information on any specific promotions, seasonal dishes, or lunch specials, it's always best for locals in Georgia to directly check Hajime's official website or call the restaurant. This ensures you have the most accurate details for your visit.

Hajime Reviews
Atlanta's Hidden Gem for Ramen LoversIf you’re on the hunt for the best ramen in Atlanta, look no further than Hajime. As a long-time fan of Umaido in Suwannee since 2009, I was thrilled to discover that these two culinary hotspots share the same roots—same delicious offerings, just a new name.Hajime does ramen right, especially if you’re a fan of a spicy kick. Their spicy noodles are hands-down the best I’ve encountered anywhere; the depth of flavor is a revelation. What sets them apart? They proudly craft their own noodles and broth, elevating the experience to another level. I had the chance to chat with the chef while he was lovingly preparing the pork belly—he kept the cooking time under wraps for secret recipe reasons, but trust me, it’s worth the culinary mystery. This pork belly is pure decadence, melting in your mouth with each bite.Unlike many mainstream franchises, the broth here doesn’t slam your taste buds with MSG. Instead, it’s a harmonious blend that won’t leave you feeling bloated. And let’s not forget their impressive drink selection—perfect for a casual evening or a special date night! With Hajime’s convenient location, I’m excited to make this my go-to spot with my partner. If you’re in the area, do your palate a favor and dive into this ramen experience. You won’t regret it.
March 28 · Obsidian templeI came here based on the recommendation of a friend and I must say, I am pleasantly surprised. I got the Tonkatsu ramen and it was delicious. The broth was flavorful and probably one of the best broths I’ve tasted in a very long time. I would absolutely recommend trying this place. I came when it wasn’t very busy as all and received great service from the waitress. It definitely feels like a place that you could bring the family, a date, or just treat yourself to a solo date.
January 04 · DavidFrom the moment we stepped into Hajime, we were blown away. The ambiance was perfect for a casual dinner/lunch. Our server was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The japanese ramen was simply divine! The flavors were expertly balanced and the presentation was stunning. We also loved the shisito- it was crispy, flavorful & delicious. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu! Highly recommend this gem!
August 06 · Kris TonnerFantastic food and service. Ultra Spicy Ramen and Veggie Onigiri were delicious and the service was incredibly nice and professional. Will definitely be back between classes in the future!
January 23 · Daniel BruntWe stumbled upon this ramen spot while in the Buckhead area, and I’m happy we did! Hajime’s ramen was absolutely delicious, rich in flavor, freshness and spice. We tried their takoyaki, kimchi chicken ramen, chicken buns and ultra spicy ramen (level 1). The restaurant was pretty chill, service was good, plenty of parking!
