Ikura Hibachi And Sushi aims to provide a diverse array of Japanese culinary experiences, catering to various preferences. Their primary offerings, as indicated by customer reviews and their name, revolve around sushi and hibachi.
All-You-Can-Eat Sushi: A significant highlight of Ikura is its all-you-can-eat sushi experience. This model allows patrons to indulge in a wide variety of sushi rolls without the concern of individual plate costs. One review specifically states, "Ikaru Sushi offers a good all-you-can-eat experience that's hard to beat the deal. The variety of sushi is extensive, featuring everything from classic rolls to more adventurous options."
Extensive Sushi Variety: Beyond the quantity, the quality and diversity of their sushi offerings are noted. Reviewers mention "everything from classic rolls to more adventurous options," indicating a broad selection to satisfy different tastes. The "fish is always fresh, and the chefs are skilled at creating beautifully presented dishes," which is crucial for a positive sushi experience.
Hibachi Dining: While not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, the restaurant's name "Ikura Hibachi And Sushi" suggests that hibachi grill dining is a core service. This typically involves chefs preparing meals, such as meats, seafood, and vegetables, on a large iron griddle in front of diners, providing both entertainment and a freshly cooked meal.
Other Japanese Dishes: A full Japanese restaurant typically offers more than just sushi and hibachi. While one review mentioned a "curry ramen" that was a "complete letdown" due to issues with preparation and taste, this does indicate that ramen and other kitchen-prepared dishes are likely part of their broader menu. These could include teriyaki, tempura, noodle dishes, and various appetizers.
Dine-In Service: Ikura offers a dine-in experience, allowing customers to enjoy their meal in the restaurant's ambiance.
Friendly and Efficient Service: Positive feedback highlights that "The service is friendly and efficient, ensuring that your plates are refilled quickly without long waits." This speaks to the staff's dedication to a smooth dining experience.
Ikura Hibachi And Sushi boasts several features and highlights that define the customer experience, drawing in and retaining patrons from across Louisiana.
Value of All-You-Can-Eat Sushi: The primary standout feature is undoubtedly the all-you-can-eat sushi offering. This model is highly attractive for sushi enthusiasts who wish to sample a wide variety of rolls and nigiri without concern for cost per piece. It’s a compelling "deal" for many.
Fresh Fish and Skilled Chefs: Despite some mixed reviews on other dishes, the consistency of "fresh" fish and the skill of the chefs in creating "beautifully presented dishes" for the sushi are notable highlights. This is a critical factor for any sushi establishment.
Extensive Sushi Selection: The broad "variety of sushi," ranging from "classic rolls to more adventurous options," allows diners to explore different flavors and textures, making each visit potentially unique.
Efficient and Friendly Staff: The positive comments on "friendly and efficient" service indicate a strong front-of-house team. Quick plate refills and minimal waiting times contribute significantly to a pleasant dining experience, especially for an all-you-can-eat model.
Hibachi Entertainment (Implied): While not directly reviewed, the inclusion of "Hibachi" in the name suggests the presence of engaging hibachi tables, offering an interactive and entertaining dining experience that is a draw for families and groups.
Potential for Large Group Dining: Given the hibachi aspect and the all-you-can-eat sushi, Ikura is likely well-suited for accommodating larger groups and celebrations.
It is important to note, however, that customer experiences can vary. One review explicitly mentions a "complete letdown" with "inconsistency" in portions and a "curry ramen" that was "especially bad" due to ingredients and flavor, stating, "I won’t be coming back." This suggests that while certain aspects like the all-you-can-eat sushi are highly praised, other areas of the menu may require attention to ensure consistent quality.
For specific and up-to-date promotions at Ikura Hibachi And Sushi, it is always recommended for locals to check directly with the restaurant. However, given their "all-you-can-eat" model, this itself serves as a significant ongoing promotion, offering a fixed price for extensive sushi consumption.
Typical promotions that Japanese restaurants, especially those with an all-you-can-eat model, might offer include:
Lunch vs. Dinner Pricing: All-you-can-eat establishments often have different pricing for lunch versus dinner, with lunch typically being more affordable.
Weekday Specials: Discounts or special offers on specific days of the week, or during off-peak hours.
Beverage Deals: Happy hour specials on drinks, including sake, beer, or non-alcoholic options.
Loyalty Programs: Some restaurants offer loyalty programs for frequent diners, providing discounts or free meals after a certain number of visits.
Seasonal Menu Additions: While not a promotion in the traditional sense, introducing seasonal fish or specialty rolls can act as a draw.

Apr 10, 2025 · Devin SinghIkura used to be a favorite when I was at Tulane, so I was excited to visit again while in New Orleans, but it was a complete letdown. We ordered the same dish twice, and the portions were noticeably different, which was bad. Why the inconsistency, shouldn't you match the first dish that was served? The curry ramen was especially bad: a hard-boiled egg instead of the jammy kind, overly salty, and the meat was tough and bland like it was just boiled. Curry ramen used to be my go-to dish... The other dishes were average at best.Really disappointed to see how far this place has fallen. I won’t be coming back.
May 18, 2025 · Tammythe service was just terrible!!!They brought us completely diluted orange juice!
May 26, 2025 · Tatiana GrigorI don't know why the rating is low! Everything is very tasty! I took two different rolls and shrimps - delicious! And the waiter was very attentive and friendly
Nov 27, 2024 · Tatiana MorozovaMy wife and I stopped by Wednesday to grab a bite to eat. It was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were pleased with everything from the amount of food that is portioned to the price of the food. The service was prompt, professional, and very enjoyable. We will be eating here again in the near future and will possibly make this a regular stop during our date nights. The sushi rolls were huge and very delicious.I had no complaints and would recommend eating here to anyone looking for great hibachi/ sushi.
