Itachi Teppanyaki & ramen express Reviews
This place serves up a pretty solid bowl of ramen. The miso broth is flavorful, rich, and has a nice depth that makes it comforting. The pork chashu is a standou - tender, well-seasoned, and just the right amount of fatty to melt in your mouth... better than other places. It’s clear they put effort into their ingredients. The service is decent; the staff is friendly and gets the job done without much fuss. However, the atmosphere feels like an afterthought. There isn’t much personality or intentional design, which makes the place feel more like a quick stop than a cozy ramen spot. If you’re just looking for good ramen without caring too much about ambiance, this place is worth a try.
March 23 · Ricardo RodriguezWill definitely be coming back for the hibachi—it was cooked perfectly and priced reasonably in my opinion! I’m giving a 5-star rating for both the service and atmosphere, which were excellent. As for the food, I do wish Google offered half-star ratings. I had the chance to sample the ramen, and while it wasn’t quite to my personal taste, I appreciated the effort. A couple of notes: the broth base appears to be the same across all ramen options, and the pork belly was a bit on the tougher side.Overall, I still highly recommend giving this place a try—especially for the hibachi and other menu items!
March 22 · keana salinasI would like to give it a higher rating but cannot as I think many people will get the ramen. We had the hibachi steak and the tonkotsu black ramen. I'll start with the good, the steak was cooked excellently. Great flavor, fair portion, and the yum yum sauce and ginger sauce on the side was delicious. The ramen on the other hand left much to be desired. The noodles were undercooked and had a strange flavor, almost like a spaghetti noodle. The pork chasu was tough, the egg was not soaked for a long period of time to give it the flavor, and the bamboo shoots were over softened and very bland. The broth was half decent, strong garlic flavoring. As someone who lived in Japan and has been to most ramen spots in San Antonio I would not recommend this place for ramen. Service was very good, our server was kind and helpful. The atmosphere is all Naruto themed so if that is your thing you will enjoy it.
March 22 · Shawn O'BrienI ordered the Ramen Susanoo - it was SPECTACULAR!!!! 🍵 I HIGHLY recommend it! For appetizers we had a delicious bowl of onion soup, the edamame (it was a little over salted) but it was really good and the rangoons ❤️ Great atmosphere- Great food! Bring your taste buds - they will love it!
December 18 · Eve L. WarlockI have been here twice. First time was great, no complaints. I got take out from here tonight. I ordered steak and scallop hibachi with my steak cooked blue, a miso soup, and the crab rangoons. My steak was still fully raw on the outside on a few pieces. They didn’t include the miso soup, and didn’t say that they were out or offer a replacement or a refund. We turned around and went back when I noticed, and they gave me a cup of soup(?) but definitely not miso soup. I have gotten miso soup countless times and never seen anything like what I received. It was a clear broth with green onions and a clump of rice. Nothing else. No seaweed, no miso paste, no tofu. I don’t even feel comfortable eating it. Really disappointed. We spent $35 on my meal and I was expecting better quality.
