Came here with a group of friends and our kids on a Friday night. The place isn’t entirely family or kid friendly. Definitely more of a 2-4 people kind of place or just take out. It’s super small and just not enough space for a big family.Moving on to the food. It was actually veeeery good. I started off with the Sushi Sandwich and the sushi was super fresh, flavors were there and I definitely would go back just for this. I then ended with a NY Strip Hibachi Dinner and it was amazing. It was the right amount of sweetness you expect from a teriyaki sauce. Steak was cooked perfectly, veggies and fried rice were great.The actual service was not the best. Not sure if it was a miscommunication between the staff to the chefs. As a group, there was a delay with the hibachi noodles and another hibachi dinner. It’s as if the kitchen never got it. They eventually brought the noodles for my friends but we cancelled the second dinner because we had already finished most of our meals.All in all, I’d prob do take out and go on my way. The food was great but if this place was in a bigger location, they’d do great.

We went here today, and it's their 4th day of grand opening. I love the food; it's very exquisite, especially their shrimp tempura, etc. They even gave me free milk tea - that's so kind of them. For the money you spend, it's worth it you get good service as well. We will definitely go back there.

Casual dining place and every bite was delightful. Had fried gyoza, sashimi appetizer, tuna roll, katsu chicken bento box, salmon teriyaki bento box, steak hibachi and took home yaki udon and salmon avocado balls.

excellent dinner here, the fish is super fresh as it should be for sushi/sashimi and portions are very generous, we look forward to returning soon - it's long overdue that Trumbull have a Japanese restaurant of this caliber.. we liked the casual, contemporary atmosphere and decor, ample parking, and please note on the date we visited, August 2025, they didn't have a liquor license but waitress assured us it was OK to byob

Outstanding food. Very fresh and pleasant atmosphere. Here’s a pic of a prepared dish for dine in before he put the sauce on it. $25 + order also grants you a free boba tea. Highly recommend Izumi.
