Jak Omakase offers a specialized and intimate dining experience, focusing exclusively on the "omakase" concept.
Omakase Dining Experience: The core offering is a chef-curated multi-course tasting menu where guests entrust the chef to select and prepare the freshest and finest seafood and ingredients. This allows for a surprise element and showcases the chef's expertise.
Multiple Course Options: Jak Omakase provides different omakase tiers to suit various preferences and appetites. These include:
Daimyo Lunch: A 12-course menu (approx. 60 minutes) for $58.
Shōgun Dinner: A 15-course menu (approx. 90 minutes) for $78.
The Emperor Dinner: A 19-course menu (approx. 90 minutes) for $128, offering the most expansive selection.
Intimate Seating: The restaurant provides a beautiful and intimate setting, often with seating directly at the sushi bar, allowing diners to witness the chef's meticulous preparation of each dish firsthand. This direct interaction with the chef, including explanations of each course, is a key part of the experience.
Premium Imported Seafood: Much of the seafood used is impeccably sourced, often imported directly from Japan, including high-quality items like premium o-toro (fatty tuna) and Hokkaido sea urchin, ensuring exceptional freshness and taste.
Attentive Service: As noted by customer reviews, the hostess (Blair) and chef (Nacho) are very attentive, providing excellent service and enhancing the overall enjoyment of the meal through detailed explanations of each course.
Drink Menu: Jak Omakase offers a selection of beverages to complement the meal, including various types of sake, beer, wine, and spirits (as typical for Japanese restaurants, specific details would be confirmed on-site or through their direct menu).
Online Reservations: Given the intimate nature and limited seating of an omakase experience, it is highly recommended and often required to make reservations in advance, which can typically be done online.
BYOB (While Pending License): It was noted in previous information that BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) was allowed with no corkage fee while their liquor license was pending approval. It is important for guests to confirm the current liquor license status directly with the restaurant.
Jak Omakase boasts several compelling features and highlights that set it apart as a premier Japanese dining destination in Georgia.
Authentic Omakase Experience: The core highlight is the genuine omakase experience itself. Diners surrender their choices to the chef, who then masterfully crafts a personalized sequence of dishes, emphasizing the freshest and highest quality ingredients available. This creates an element of delightful surprise with each course.
Exceptional Quality and Freshness: Reviews consistently praise the "taste" and "freshness" of the seafood. The commitment to importing premium ingredients from Japan, such as hamachi, scallop, oyster, and o-toro, underscores their dedication to delivering an authentic and high-quality sushi experience.
Intimate and Beautiful Ambiance: The restaurant is described as "beautiful and intimate," providing a refined and serene setting that enhances the sophisticated dining journey. This comfortable and aesthetic environment contributes significantly to the overall enjoyment.
Affordable Premium Dining: A particularly noteworthy highlight is that Jak Omakase offers an "upscale and surprisingly affordable" omakase. The pricing (e.g., $58 for 12 lunch courses, $78 for 15 dinner courses) is often seen as a remarkable value for the quality and experience provided, making premium omakase accessible.
Engaging Chef Interaction: The direct interaction with the chef is a key feature. Chefs like Nacho are lauded for doing "a great job describing every single fish when handing them to you," educating diners on the ingredients and preparation techniques, enriching the meal beyond just taste.
Attentive and Knowledgeable Staff: Beyond the chef, the hostess (Blair) and other staff members are recognized for their attentiveness and ability to explain each course thoroughly, ensuring guests feel comfortable and informed throughout their dining experience.
Varied Menu Progression: While chef-selected, the omakase menus are designed to offer a diverse progression of flavors and textures, featuring favorites like hamachi (yellowtail), scallop, and oyster, among other expertly prepared sushi and sashimi pieces.
Dedicated Sushi Expertise: The focus solely on an omakase sushi experience allows the chefs to truly specialize and perfect their craft, delivering an experience that lives up to the high standards of traditional Japanese sushi mastery.
As an omakase-focused restaurant, Jak Omakase's approach to promotions or special offers may differ from traditional à la carte establishments, often centering on their tiered pricing and the value they already offer. However, patrons can consider the following:
Accessible Pricing Tiers: The different omakase course options ($58 for 12-course lunch, $78 for 15-course dinner, $128 for 19-course dinner) are already designed to be "affordable" for a premium omakase experience, essentially acting as built-in promotions compared to many other high-end omakase venues.
BYOB Policy (if still active): If the BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) policy without a corkage fee is still active while their liquor license is pending, this serves as a significant cost-saving "promotion" for guests who wish to enjoy alcoholic beverages with their meal.
Seasonal Ingredient Highlights: Omakase by nature emphasizes seasonality. While not a "discount," the ever-changing selection of premium, in-season fish and ingredients can be seen as a continuous "special offer" of unique flavors only available for a limited time.
First-Time Guest Experience: The overall value and intimate nature of the dining experience itself often serve as the primary draw for new customers, with positive word-of-mouth being a key promotional driver.
Reservations and Booking: While not a promotion, the emphasis on advance reservations ensures a personalized and smooth dining experience, which is a value-add in itself for high-demand experiences.
Social Media and Mailing List: Like many restaurants, Jak Omakase may utilize social media channels or a mailing list for "specials, new menu items, and restaurant updates." Signing up or following them could provide insights into any future limited-time offers or new course additions.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on any current promotions, special events, or changes to their policies (like the BYOB status), it is always best to contact Jak Omakase directly or check their official reservation platforms.

Jak Omakase Reviews
Jak Omakase was a phenomenal experience. My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Blair (hostess) and Nacho (chef) were very attentive and did a great job explaining each course. Our favorites were the hamachi, scallop, and oyster. The restaurant was beautiful and intimate. It was also, affordable and delicious. We can’t wait to return!
Apr 23, 2025 · Crystal VaughnCame for lunch, it was pretty good- 12 pieces for the price $58. Chef did a good job describing every single fish when handing them to you. Overall, I’m very pleased. The taste, the freshness, just what an Omakase should be.
Feb 15, 2025 · Christy LamMy friends took me here for my birthday, and I absolutely loved it! Each piece of nigiri showcased the chef’s mastery in balancing flavors. We had the dinner omakase, and at just $79 for 15 pieces of nigiri, it was an excellent value. You sit at the bar, and the chef keeps things moving at a brisk pace.
May 27, 2025 · Lena AhnVisited with a small group for lunch. It was an enjoyable omakase, though needed supplement and not especially memorable. The big mac is intriguing but feels like the ratio is off. Some of the cocktails looked interesting but weren't yet available. We were able to order standard sake options.Service was good. Had a little chatting time with the chef. Parking is ample.
Mar 11, 2025 · Leslie WittenbachAn easy 5+/5. We booked a fairly last minute reservation and ended up with the 19 piece omakase. Ingredients were impeccable and the rice was the perfect accompaniment to enhance the fish. Perhaps some of the best squid I've had and the uni was phenomonal. Scallops, yellowtail, and kimedai were also stellar. The otoro was pure luxury. Not a single mediocre bite in the entire meal.
