John’s Sushi House Reviews
Very good sushi spot. Went with my wife on a date night and had a great time. The waitress was patient and answered all our questions when we tried to get away from the basic Cali roll. I tried raw sushi for the first time and it wasn't bad. We did try some of the Cali rolls and they were great and well balanced. Usually you get a bunch of cucumber and a little crab, but not here. Everything was delicious and the staff was great. Check them out.

May 25, 2024 · RGSOUNDFI was treated to John's Sushi House last night for a birthday dinner by my roommate and family. Our server was warm and friendly, and extremely helpful; our dishes were utterly fantastic (try the sushi boat for two; it's a work of art!). The presentation was wonderful, the aesthetic in this restaurant is always outstanding, and I was glad to see they were quite busy.We make it a point to visit John's at least once a month, because we love the staff and the dishes, and they even treated me to a birthday cheesecake with a candle on top! The boat was a favorite, my steak and chicken hibachi never fails to satisfy, and it was just a generally wonderful visit. Five stars every single time we visit; thanks again for another outstanding meal, guys!
Jan 06, 2024 · Krys D.This was the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Don’t believe the 5 star reviews. I question if they’re fake or if they just don’t know what is real sushi. Don’t fall for it. I’ve had some poor sushi but this was the lowest quality I’ve ever seen. The rolls were so sloppy. They stick together and fall apart. The fish is NOT fresh. The rice is hard and cold. Sushi rice should be room temperature and soft. It’s sticky, which is why the rolls were sticking together. The seaweed/nori is bad quality and hard to chew. I am shocked. The prices are not worth the low grade sushi and lack of skill for making rolls. My guess is they have an amateur sushi chef who’s just learning because that’s how bad the rolls were made. This is the first and last time I will order from here. Wasted $80 on this. So much for taking a risk and trying somewhere new. It’s almost impossible to find a good sushi place around here. You have to drive out to the city or farther away where they charge more.
Jan 26, 2025 · E BaeThe food is so good! Incredible quality and presentation, however, the service staff seems to be very new to the industry and prices are higher than the typical sushi restaurants in the area. Not quite as much as you might expect if you were getting sushi in Center City, but far from a good deal for a sleepy spot in Fox Chase. I'd recommend coming here for a celebration or if price is no object, but if you're looking to get a good price on a solid Japanese meal, you can do a lot better in the local area.
