Kaedama Introduce
For New Jersey residents and travelers making their way through Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), finding a satisfying meal that goes beyond typical airport fare can be a pleasant surprise. Nestled within Terminal C, Kaedama offers a taste of Japanese cuisine, specializing in ramen and sushi, providing a sit-down dining experience for those with time to spare before their flight.
Kaedama aims to bring the essence of a Japanese noodle bar to the busy airport environment. The name itself, "Kaedama," refers to the Japanese term for requesting a second serving of ramen noodles, hinting at their focus on hearty bowls and a commitment to a fulfilling meal. While individual experiences can vary in an airport setting, Kaedama strives to provide a comfortable atmosphere where travelers can enjoy a warm bowl of ramen, fresh sushi, or other Japanese delights.
This establishment serves as a dedicated spot for Japanese comfort food and more, offering a different pace compared to grab-and-go options. Whether you're a local embarking on a journey or just passing through, Kaedama presents an opportunity to enjoy a more substantial and flavorful meal before you take to the skies. They even offer a variety of options, including clearly marked vegan and vegetarian dishes, making it a thoughtful choice for many.
Kaedama is conveniently located within Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), specifically at 73 International Airport St C Terminal, Newark, NJ 07114, USA. This address places it directly inside Terminal C, which is a significant hub for many airlines, including United Airlines.
Being situated airside within Terminal C, Kaedama is accessible to ticketed passengers who have successfully cleared the security checkpoints for this terminal. Its location within a food hall area, often described as being in the center of the main food court between Gates C70-99, makes it relatively easy to find for those navigating Terminal C.
For New Jersey residents flying out of Terminal C, or those with layovers in this terminal, Kaedama offers a highly accessible dining option without requiring them to leave the secure area. This convenience is crucial in an airport environment, allowing travelers to enjoy a sit-down meal without the stress of venturing to other terminals or dealing with external transportation. Its central placement within a busy terminal ensures it's a practical choice for many travelers looking for a substantial and enjoyable meal.
Kaedama provides a range of services designed to offer a comfortable and varied dining experience for travelers within the airport environment.

Kaedama at Newark Liberty International Airport offers several features and highlights that make it a distinct dining option within Terminal C.
Specialization in Ramen and Sushi: As a dedicated Japanese noodle and sushi bar, Kaedama focuses on these core offerings, aiming for authenticity and quality in its preparation. Their ramen selections, including various broths and toppings, are a highlight, described as "authentic" and "delicious."
Fresh and Beautifully Prepared Food: Many customers have lauded the freshness of the sushi, with some even calling it "the best sushi I’ve ever had" and praising how "every piece was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared." Ingredients are often described as "fresh and tasty."
Vegan and Vegetarian Friendly: A significant highlight is their commitment to offering clearly labeled vegan and vegetarian dishes, such as the Vegan Soy Miso Ramen (which can be made vegan by omitting egg) and other plant-based options, making it accessible to a wider range of diners.
Full Bar: The presence of a full bar allows travelers to enjoy a selection of alcoholic beverages, including sake, craft beers, and cocktails, enhancing the dining experience in an airport setting and providing a relaxing option.
Airport Location with Comfortable Seating: Situated in Terminal C's Global Bazaar food hall (between Gates C70-99), Kaedama provides a more relaxed, sit-down environment with comfortable seating, a valuable feature for travelers looking to unwind before their flight. Its design is even noted as being modern and playful.
Friendly and Attentive Staff: Despite being an airport establishment, many customers have praised the staff for being very nice, helpful, welcoming, accommodating, and incredibly attentive. They've been noted for going "out of their way to make sure everything was perfect" and remaking orders "with no fuss," which significantly improves the customer experience.
As an establishment located within a major international airport like Newark Liberty International Airport, Kaedama may not consistently feature the same types of ongoing promotions or special offers found at street-side restaurants. Airport dining establishments often operate under different pricing structures due to the unique costs and captive audience associated with their location.
However, travelers can always consider a few general avenues for potential benefits:
Airport-Wide Programs: Check if EWR or its concession management partners (such as OTG, which operates many restaurants in Terminal C) have any overarching dining programs, discounts for specific airline loyalty members, or general airport-wide promotions that might apply to restaurants within the airport. These programs are usually advertised throughout the terminal or on official airport websites.
Credit Card Benefits: Certain travel-focused credit cards or premium rewards cards may offer dining credits or discounts specifically for airport restaurants. It's always a good idea for New Jersey travelers to review their individual credit card benefits before their trip.
On-Site Inquiries: The most direct way to find out about any current daily specials or limited-time offers would be to inquire with the staff directly when you visit Kaedama. While less common for airport venues, they might have special seasonal items or a "chef's special" of the day.
Ultimately, the primary value of dining at Kaedama in the airport context often comes from its convenience, specialized menu, and the ability to enjoy a sit-down meal with diverse options, rather than extensive promotional pricing.

Kaedama Reviews
Sadly it was the worse ramen I’ve had. Three noodles all clumped together and were gummy, and the broth was lukewarm. Sushi and poke were just ok. The servers were very very nice and helpful though. Remade my order with no fuss.

May 27, 2025 · AADESH VALLARAPURamen is not good. Fishy smelling. Took 30 mins to get a glass of water and it came back with debris floating in it. Overheard staff saying to another thru failed inspection yesterday.
