Kajiken Rockville Reviews
Wow, this place is amazing! I’m so glad I stumbled upon it. I’m a vegetarian, and I was thrilled to find a vegan option. There wasn’t any ramen with vegetable broth, but there was a delicious vegan ramen with a tasty sauce! I was a bit skeptical at first, but it turned out to be a fantastic dish! The restaurant is beautifully designed, and what surprised me the most was that all the employees greet and say goodbye to each client in Japanese! It was such a cool touch. I will definitely visit again.
May 29, 2025 · Gal BThis was my second time at Kajiken and I had a great experience both times! Most notably, the service is very welcoming and attentive. I was greeted by multiple different hosts while I was waiting for the rest of my party to arrive and they got us seated quick. I felt like the server was also really nice; he took our orders without making us wait too long and also checked in on us to see if we needed more water or anything. For my entree, I had the chicken curry abura soba ($14). I really liked it! It had a strong Japanese curry flavor with lots of crispy grilled chicken. Others at my table got the sukiyaki and original flavors, and they loved them as well! My only disappointment was that the drink menu was pretty plain and seemed to mostly be bottled tea/juices. Parking was full in the front when I came, but there's a larger lot behind the restaurant and a free retail garage for even more overflow. $14 for a tasty bowl is still a good price for Rockville especially, so I'd be back!
Apr 02, 2025 · CelinaI love the “dry ramen” here. The food is so flavorful and delicious. Portions are NOT American style just be warned. They are Asian portions and enough for me.Clean atmosphere and can get crowded. Medium noise level. Our server was very friendly and checked on us often.Value is not cheap, but comparable to this area.Private parking lot for this shopping center and always packed 😒, so now you know, it’s definitely not easy to find parkings especially during meal times.Highly recommended IG@WineDinenVacay
Feb 27, 2025 · Starr DavisA Japanese restaurant with delicious soba that I would highly recommend! There was no wait to be seated for our party of 3 on a Sunday around noon. There were ramen, appetizers, donburis, and many delicious sobas with generous portions.I’d recommend the roast beef soba if you are comfortable with raw Japanese egg, as it makes the sauce so much creamier. The original soba and was not as creamy but still delicious, and the ramen was decent as well. We also really enjoyed the tebasaki (chicken wings) and they were very crispy and saucy, but was kind of expensive for the portion. I also got the limited edition Sakura dessert set (comes with a mousse cake and drink) which were both sweet and very tasty.I’d love to go back again and try more appetizers and sobas in the future!
Apr 08, 2025 · ElliI've been here twice, and the ambiance always reminds me of Japan. The lighting is especially good--it's easy on the eyes and perfect for taking photos. The service staff is fast and easy to communicate with. We were checked on a reasonable number of times, without it interrupting our meal. The food is great--definitely one of the best in the DMV area. I prefer the Spicy Tonkotsu over the original, which I found to be flavorless. On our second visit, we ordered the Original Tonkotsu, thought it might have been a me, but my partner also tasted the same where the original Tonkotsu lacked taste. In contrast, the Spicy Tonkotsu has much more flavor, likely due to the added minced spicy pork. The oyster with egg tartar appetizer was also really good.I'm giving it a 4 because we'll definitely return, but the base broth could use more umami.
