The food was good but sadly the new server(not sure if it was her first day training) but we had a very hard timeCommunicating with her and it was fine once she got her colleague to help translate and explain what weWere asking for. But it went down hill when she also gave our food to the wrong table. We had to wait additional time and not a word from management for hiccups. So sure if I would ever come back.

Stopped in late night around closing time. The chef made A beautiful display of delicious sushi for our dinner. We had the monkey roll and the red dragon Thank you for accommodating us so late and producing such a beautiful meal. This will be my go to when I’m craving sushi.

The sashimi was fresh and tasty—definitely a standout. The gal bi portion was small and part of it was burned, which was disappointing. The saba was decent. The salad dressing is a bit too sweet for my taste.The place is clean and has a bar-like atmosphere in terms of decor, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Service is quick, and the food comes out fast.

A casual, great value gem in SJ! Kampai offers a “salmon lovers special” for $22 and it is the best salmon I have ever had. A fantastic value! Service was prompt and friendly, and the vibe is relaxed. Sit at the bar to watch the sushi chef work his magic! I also ordered tamago and it was the best I’ve ever had: super moist and fresh with perfect amount of sweetness. Everything is clean and welcoming. Parking is abundant and easy.
