Kang Nam Reviews
Food was decent, ambiance wasn’t anything special but they did have a lot of individual rooms (I was not seated there, so can’t speak about it. Service was okay, they were very all over the place when I first arrived and had 3 different menus (I had to keep asking for them). I arrived a couple minutes before 7p and they gave me a blue and white paper menu which was primarily their lunch menu and 2 things for dinner. Strange. Then I asked for a dinner menu and I got a booklet or many pages with a lot of group size items. Then I asked if they had a sushi menu and finally was given that. We ordered Buford Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Spicy Salmon Roll - pretty basic sushi rolls, nothing fancy. All were good sizes and filling. I also ordered Tuna Tataki, which tasted good.It was a nice experience, but I think it would be better to come in a group so you can try more items and their menu had many group combo items.
May 23, 2025 · Navita BLunch at this long-standing sushi and sashimi spot in Doraville’s original Koreatown felt a bit like stepping into Atlanta’s own slice of culinary history. I was invited by a friend who calls it his go-to restaurant, so I arrived with high expectations—and it delivered. The exterior is unassuming, but once inside you’re wrapped in the gentle murmur of Korean conversation, the scent of vinegared rice, and the soft glow of warm wood panels. Servers moved quickly yet never seemed rushed, greeting regulars by name and newcomers with the same easy warmth.I chose the lunch platter, a miniature tasting tour that begins with a demitasse of silky juk (porridge)—just a few spoonfuls, enough to awaken the appetite. Next came three pristine sashimi selections—delicate slices of tuna, salmon, and fluke -laid out like watercolor swatches. A neat trio of nigiri followed, rice still warm from the sushi-oke, along with a single fried shrimp whose panko sheath shattered with a satisfying crunch. The centerpiece was a bubbling bowl of 매운 생선탕 (spicy fish soup): a deep red broth laced with gochugaru, radish, and generous chunks of flaky white fish. It warmed my throat and cleared my sinuses in the most comforting way. Then came the surprises—part of the restaurant’s quiet generosity. A spicy sashimi salad (회무침) arrived unannounced: ribbons of raw fish tossed in a tangy-sweet chili sauce with julienned vegetables. After the final sip of miso soup, a small cup of coffee and a scoop of ice cream landed on the table, closing the meal with a gentle nod to Western dessert tradition.Throughout, the staff maintained just the right balance of attentiveness and discretion. The cozy room, quietly animated by chopsticks clicking and soft laughter, made it easy to linger. I really enjoyed and will come back.
May 30, 2025 · Xavier KThis place is amazing!!!! The sushi is so fresh and the price is unbelievable. Our server was so attentive and sweet. The customer service here is amazing. I cant believe the price is so affordable because the quantity and quality of the food is absolutely amazing. Its definitely authentic and I love the free sides as well.
Dec 25, 2024 · suma sharmaThey have the best lunch combo! The fish are fresh and very tasty. You should make reservation especially in the weekend. If you can't make reservation then show up as soon as they open the door and they might let you in, but with only 1 hour limit. It should be enough time unless you have a big party. The combo 3 and 4 are good for us. The price is great if you can get the lunch combo.
Feb 02, 2025 · Mit GnadWe walked in for lunch and were tight on time. They had a 15 minute wait and I explained this to the hostess. She cheerfully gave us a table without hesitation. Then the food, absolutely delicious. Fabulous service and the sushi chef came over to check on us. This is how a restaurant should be run. Personal service and hospitality exceeding my expectations. Thank you !
