Kanki Japanese House of Steaks & Sushi - North Raleigh Reviews
Disgusting. Got the sushi and sashimi dinner which allows for chef’s choice. I’ve never in my life had a problem with chef’s choice options, I love all sushi! What I got was vile. Old and suspicious. I was scared to even eat it but I tried to stay positive and ate half and threw the rest away. Of the chef’s choice nigiri, they were supposed to give me 9 pieces. Three pieces were BOILED OCTOPUS, one was a piece of egg on rice, another was imitation crab… are you kidding? Nothing was fresh, the salmon and tuna looked horrifying. Still, I tried it all because I’m not picky but it was awful and concerning. The “tuna rolls” had a grey piece of fish in there and were about the size of my pinky. I’ve never EVER thrown away food from a restaurant in my life…. and yet I spent $35 to throw away these “dishes”.
May 14, 2025 · Joy AuteryHad a great experience our chef was Rick. Food was cooked perfectly. Sushi was very good as well.
Feb 15, 2025 · Marcos MirandaAte here for lunch, the food was decent, nothing spectacular. Order wasn’t accurate, asked for no onions and zucchini received only onions. Food wasn’t exactly hot when I did receive it. Took a while to receive menus, the front of house host wasn’t pleasant to meet/greet. The waiter did the best he could I do believe. Didn’t receive our soup until asked at which that point we already had our entree. Mediocre, overall experience not really worth the price point. I’ve encountered better food and service at a hole in the wall in Cary.
Nov 05, 2024 · SakiyahCame here for a birthday and was pleasantly surprised to find this place. Staff was friendly and very helpful asking for preferences and allergies for food prep.Ordered a Philly roll and the shrimp tempura roll as a app and it was decent. Had a bit too much rice as a wrap but still tasted fresh and delicious.Split a Banzai meal for the hibachi for the $5 upcharge and was well worth it. There was more than enough food that we ended up taking a near full box home.Rice was great and was fried with eggs and soy sauce and garlic butter giving it a great flavorful taste.Veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly.Shrimp was cooked with garlic butter and lemon and were on point. Really great taste.Steak ordered medium well was cooked perfectly and paired perfectly with the ginger sauce they offer. It was a NY Strip cut. Chef took care to remove the fat caps so the piece were not chewy at all.Chicken was juicy and well seasoned.Lastly the staff offered a rainbow sherbet for the birthday guests. It was a nice treat to freshen the plate as it was a lemon and orange flavor.Overall it was a great meal and this is easily my new fav spot for hibachi.
May 19, 2024 · JJ GironHonestly, with everything I have ever experienced at Kanki over the years, this was one time I was in danger of missing out on how amazing and fresh my lamb lollipops and sea scallops hibachi really were. I nearly missed out on how funny and intuitive my chef was, how great a show he put on, and the fact that he involved myself, the family of six who were seated at the same grill, the whole nine. "How on earth did you nearly miss your ENTIRE experience, dude?" My date has these amazing green-hazel eyes, and almost nothing else matters most of the time she is near. 🤷🏿
