Katsumura Reviews
Excellent Japanese food!! I lived in Japan, and this tastes exactly like it does over there. We got lucky to get a table as walk-ins. Definitely secure a reservation, because this place is popular!!
Jun 02, 2025 · Jennifer EteFantastic Japanese spot: whether you’re with family or solo - there’s plenty of seating. Great atmosphere, heard it was previously a hibachi restaurant so they have those special vents installed in ceiling (not that they need it) which makes for a cool aesthetic. Now the food, we ordered the pre crusted meat dish that comes with a mini charcoal grill to cook it! The other dishes we ordered was the curry with pork. The portions were just right (I was starving) and the attention to quality was excellent. It’s what I’d imaging true authentic Japanese food would taste like. Also it was busy around 7pm and they were very good on timing with bringing all the food out. Will certainly return here
Apr 12, 2025 · Raymond FrianezaHad my eye on this place for a year since they initially opened but didn't have a chance to visit until today. It's the closest place to the South Bay that serves gyukatsu. We came in around 8PM on Sunday and managed to snag the last open table that they had available. Even if we weren't able to get that initial table, the wait time was only ~15 mins before another table opened. We were welcomed enthusiastically and our waiter gave us a jug of iced water while we perused the menu. I initially wanted to try the gyakatsu but opted for the beef yakiniku set and tonkatsu set instead. We were not disappointed with our picks.5/5 The tonkatsu set was very delicious. The set included a hefty portion of tonkatsu, a heaping bowl of rice, cabbage salad, mac salad, potato salad, and miso soup (which they forgot to bring out and we forgot to ask). The pork was juicy and the breading was light but crispy.5/5 The beef yakiniku came with ribeye, boneless short rib, finger meat, steamed egg, salad, pickled radish, kimchi, and spicy soup (which they forgot to bring out but we were super stuffed by the time we remembered so no harm done). They brought a small table wide charcoal grill for us to cook our meats. One of the waiters (I didn't catch his name, Heejin?) was nice enough to help us cook the ribeye steak. Super cool and chill dude, good vibes.Even though the restaurant was constantly packed, the 3 waiters and bussers were attentive and very prompt with service. Will definitely be back to try the gyukatsu next time.
May 05, 2025 · C PhamFirst, time here at Katsumura!I was here for one of my brothers from college’s birthday and it was a pleasant surprise. Despite the restaurant being reservation only, it was still very full.We decided to go with of course the cheese katsu and the barbecue with the pork and rib eye combo… don’t think just do that. It was more intimate than a regular KBBQ spot bc they cook it for you in a charcoal grill. Both meats melt in your mouth type way, will definitely bring the girl out next time.Service ✅Flavor ✅Korean & Japanese fusion ✅
May 05, 2025 · Christian LegaspiThis was such an enjoyable experience. The food and the service went above and beyond. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. We ordered their udon, gyoza, sweet potato katsu, beef sampler and eel-don. All were delicious, highly recommend!
