Kizaki Reviews
Great addition to the Denver sushi rotation. Gorgeous space especially the sushi counter. Chef and staff super friendly and helpful but not stuffy at all. Absolutely amazing dishes and sake selection. Yuki was friendly and super helpful on helping uschoose some amazing sakes for dinner. Can’t wait to return.
Apr 19, 2025 · Tom MFantastic omakase experience. Den corner keeps getting better. With the 2 table areas in the restaurant, IF OCCUPIED, it can get fairly loud in such an intimate space but that doesn’t dock anything from Toshi-san and his crew at all.
May 19, 2025 · aaron truongOne of the better omakase sushi dinners I've had; easily recommended.Definitely an emphasis on quality product and attention to detail. They were proud to highlight really good nori and akazu sourced from Japan. Little details like having gloves on while making the temaki to keep it perfectly crisp, and doing most of the seared pieces over a grill rather than with an Iwatani. Came out just right. The overall vibe is nicely balanced; not too formal, not too casual. One of the younger chefs, fluent both in English and Japanese, does a great job giving background on every piece. The overall course, at least at the time of writing, is a little on the "safe" side with respect to flavors; nothing really strong. Personal preference, but I love that sort of thing and would have liked maybe an optional piece available.Still, definitely worth a shout.
May 24, 2025 · Tom SzelagEasily one of the best meals of my life - Chef Toshi Kizaki has truly built a special omakase experience here, using only the most carefully selected ingredients, expert classic techniques, and playful creativity in dishes & presentation - all topped off with impeccable service. If you CAN get a table, do it now - before word gets out!
Apr 25, 2025 · Aaron MonroeThis was a sui generis dining experience, with only 9 guests at the counter, watching chef Toshi Kizaki and his two assistant chefs create masterpieces. Everything about this experience, from the host discussing each dish as it was served, to Toshi personally engaging his guests after the meal, was intimate and beautiful. And the food....what to say about the full five senses experience? The nigiri was out of this world - from the black throat sea perch marinated in kelp (from Shizuoka) to the golden eye snapper from Chiba. I savored every piece. The transition between different types of nigiri and cooked dishes, like Japanese savory egg custard with snow crab -> toro -> toro aburi (seared), was perfectly planned to keep things exciting. There was an obvious intentionality and attention to detail in these segues. Even the desserts were a cut above - I've never had mochi with fresh fruit in it and the roasted green tea pudding was the best cap to a special night. Both desserts were as divine as the other 21 courses that were served. While this may be a splurge, it's worth it if you want a true Japanese omakase experience with inspiring dishes and a warm environment, almost as if Toshi was cooking for you at home. This was a transformative experience and undoubtedly a Top 5 meal of my life.
