KUSAKABE specializes in delivering a refined and comprehensive Japanese dining experience, centered around the traditional omakase format. Key services and offerings, as highlighted by customer reviews, include:
- Omakase Dining: The primary and perhaps sole offering, where the chef curates a multi-course tasting menu featuring the freshest seasonal ingredients. This typically includes a progression of appetizers, various sushi pieces, and other Japanese delicacies.
- Coordinated Seating Times: The restaurant operates on "coordinated seatings," indicating a structured approach to dining that ensures a smooth flow and personalized attention for each group of diners.
- Exceptional Sushi and Sashimi: A core component of the omakase, with specific praise for "fresh" fish and perfectly seasoned rice.
- Unique Saucing: Noted for a particularly well-done "soy-based sauce with bonito" that enhances the overall flavor profile of the sushi.

Based on the provided customer reviews, KUSAKABE, as a high-end omakase restaurant, does not appear to offer traditional "promotions" or "special offers" in the sense of discounts or happy hours. Its pricing structure aligns with a premium fine dining experience. The value here is derived from the exceptional quality of the ingredients, the masterful culinary artistry, and the meticulously crafted dining experience itself.
However, the restaurant does offer a specific type of 'special offer' through its curated experience:
- Curated Omakase Experience: While priced as a luxury, the "full omakase" is considered by many to be a comprehensive and worthwhile culinary journey, often including "3 courses of 4 bites of sushi plus so much more," ensuring a substantial and diverse tasting.
- Sake Flight Recommendation: For those seeking a more curated beverage experience without the full price of drink pairings, the "sake flight" is recommended as a valuable alternative, allowing for a tasting of different sakes.
- Special Occasion Recognition: As highlighted in a review, KUSAKABE goes above and beyond to make "special occasions" truly memorable with thoughtful, complimentary gestures such as a "candle and card" for birthdays and a "gift of a little yuzu soda to take home." These personal touches are a form of value-added service, enhancing the overall celebratory experience.
Given its high-end nature, direct inquiry to KUSAKABE regarding specific pricing for their omakase menus and drink options would be the best approach for potential diners. The inherent "expensive night out" is justified by the "worthwhile" and unforgettable experience they provide.

KUSAKABE Reviews
I actually ate here a few years ago, back when Kusakabe still had a Michelin star. I never got around to writing a review, but I remember the experience clearly because it really stood out.The fish was fresh, the rice had a nice touch of seasoning, and what impressed me most was the soy-based sauce with bonito. For me, the sauce is everything in sushi or omakase. It brings the whole bite together and theirs was really well done. It’s been a while, so I’m not sure how it is now, but back then it was definitely worth recommending. Glad I finally got around to posting this.
May 11, 2025 · OliviaWe had an amazing experience here last night for my birthday. This is a tightly run ship, with coordinated seatings and a beautiful ambiance. The bathroom is even beautiful with a bidet and a pleasant scent (I know, but it was impressive). The full omakase was almost too much food for me, with 3 courses of 4 bites of sushi plus so much more. The drink pairings were pricey so instead I recommend the sake flight. They surprised us with a candle and card to celebrate my birthday, with a gift of a little yuzu soda to take home! I even left my purse at the restaurant on accident and they called me within 5 minutes to come back for it. It’s an expensive night out but if it’s a special occasion they will make it worthwhile.
Feb 12, 2025 · Shannon BayleyFood was great. The chef asked us if we have any favorites and he gave us a good mix of fatty and lean fish/cuts for the sushi. Loved the umami of the chawan mushi, which was the first dish. The variety of textures and flavors on the appetizer tray had us eagerly anticipating the sushi course. We had the petite omakase with a wagyu add-on, and that was fillingMinus one star because of the service. Dishes came out at just the right pace, but our server talked too fast that we can’t understand what she was saying. It was a full bar the night we were there and the space was a little too tight. I’ve sat at the bar for omakase in the past, at least 2-3 times including in Japan, and I don’t remember them being this tight. Not a dealbreaker though, and would still come back
Dec 30, 2024 · Michelle TOur chef Mika was fantastic!! She came from Japan with her handsome 10yr old cat just a little over a year ago. She showcased her talent and prepared each course for us with such amazing skill! Telling us about where each cut of fresh fish was from, and how the best seaweed is prepared, and introducing us to flounder fin! Flavor and presentation in every dish was spot on. We loved the variety & textures of every course. Everything from octopus to scallop to sea bream: well executed, plated to precision and served with joy. We thank Chef Mika for a really memorable evening as we celebrated our 10 year anniversary! (Chef Mika was also the only woman behind the counter amongst the other chefs this night — so hats off to her!!!)We came here for the petit omakase (13 course) and it was simply perfect. Wonderfully paced, portions were delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive. They’re busy but timely- so be sure to make that reservation.Had a really nice time here, so if you’re in town don’t hesitate to treat yourself at Kusakabe!
May 21, 2025 · Sarah BuiWonderful experience. We opted for a bottle of sake and the gentleman allowed us to try four different ones to determine what we would like--how lovely is that?!Leonardo our sushi chef, was absolutely gifted as well as sweet and genuine. He made beautiful bites and we enjoyed 90% of them. He even substituted a dish for me since I'm not a fan of sea urchin, though I tried it again. I didn't need to do it twice in one evening. The place was great! The fish fresh! Would definitely come back! Also lovely ambiance.
