Lucky Mizu

1254 S Figueroa St 8th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90015, USA

3.0
Nestled on Level 8 of the AC / Moxy Hotel, Lucky Mizu is definitely a vibe — sleek, moody, and perfect for pretending you’re cooler than you actually are (mission accomplished, thank you very much). When we went, it was practically empty — just a few other diners. With that said the service was attentive and speedy. Now, onto the sushi. I stuck to the raw side of life, and while some bites had me doing a happy little dance in my seat, others left me emotionally unfulfilled. The Toro and Wagyu, which I came in hyped for, sadly didn’t deliver that melt-in-your-soul magic I was expecting. But everything else? Solid to above average. There were definite highlights that would pull me back in for a round two.All in all, it’s a cool spot with potential — not quite sushi nirvana, but definitely worth another visit. Especially if you’re looking for good vibes and low-key luxe with your sashimi. - Timmy C
