Minato Sushi Bar Reviews
Went on a Saturday night before an evening at the Meyerhoff. Miso soup, edamame, and Super Bowl roll. Soup could have been hotter. We had just hit the last sixty minutes of happy hour. It became crowded quickly. Service was prompt and we were able to leave in time and walk to the Meyerhoff.
Feb 12, 2025 · Pen WI have been a patron and supporter of Minato for almost 20 years and am wondering if they had a recent change of ownership. What was once a wonderful and welcoming mainstay in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood was not that tonight. My guest and I arrived at 8:25 pm a Friday night - unaware the restaurant closes at 9 p.m. We didn’t recognize anyone we knew. Our assigned server was friendly but seemed eager, so we thought she was just new. At 8:45, as the food was just delivered, an employee (not our server, a manager?) came over and said they close at 9 but “no rush.” A couple minutes later, our server told us they close at 9. People started sweeping around us and a third person dropped the check off. At 8:56, the employee who told us “no rush” said we had about 4 minutes before they close. At that point, we told him we heard the first time and they should not welcome or seat customers if they weren’t prepared to serve them properly and allow them to eat. He went over and printed out our check not realizing that someone had dropped it off. He also had the nerve to ask if I wanted a box for the two pieces of teriyaki steak that was left on my plate. The patronizing attitude was unnecessary and unwarranted. Staff need to remember that without customers, a business will not stay around. Sadly, I don’t plan to return here. This one bad experience was enough for me especially when there are other options. I would’ve expected this treatment at a McDonald’s, not Minato. Good luck.
May 31, 2025 · Antonio RiveraWe really enjoy Minato. Wonderful staff, pleasant, relaxed environment, and the food always satisfies. An unusual surprise with the sweet potato rolls and would have them again. Wonton dumplings and dessert a must from now on. If your people like to laugh over food, the back room is perfect. Can also accommodate more than 4 people by putting tables together. Went on Monday bout six. Seemed to be the right time for street parking. Reasonably priced for sit-in dining.
May 13, 2025 · Xllyhema MSeafood is big here in Baltimore, so I wanted to make sure I stopped by a few seafood and sushi restaurants. Minato was one of the highly touted sushi/happy hour restaurants in the city, so it was a no-brainer to go. Also, it was within walking distance from my sisters apartment, so that is an added bonus.I loved how the restaurant was decorated. It is huge despite what it looks like from outside. The restaurant is long and narrow *pause* and there are, what seems like, an infinite amount of seats there. The ceilings illuminate different colors, and the walls have a way blue pattern. The whole restaurant is extremely pleasing to the eye. From the decor to the color pallete, everything is gorgeous. The service was great. Our server Cherry was extremely attentive. At one point, my sister expressed displeasure with her drink, and Cherry was quick to make another right away to my sister's pleasure. I think the server was new, but was knowledgeable and extremely present. The happy hour menu is huge. There are a ton of options to choose from. We had quite the spread including: Edamame, Spring Roll, Shumai, Curry Chicken Dumpling, and the Rolex Sushi Roll. The food was decent, it is not the best sushi I ever had, but for the value, it is well worth it. Their prices for everything are great for your pockets, even the drinks are extremely cheap, which I find is a lost art in the happy hour game. I should mention, however, the drinks are not strong at all, so this isn't the place to get wasted when you had a bad day at work lol. Perfect hang out place for friend groups or a calm after work date.
Jul 28, 2024 · Mo CamaraVery cool, chill sushi bar. Chill vibes as the restaurant has high ceilings with bright colors and unique art. Intimate tables or spots for groups, there is more seating in the back past the bar. Great happy hour specials on food and drinks. Excellent, chefs kiss menu that is authentic sushi and Japanese food. Delicious. The service was on point. I already can't wait to go back.
