Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
Mojos Sushi is an ideal dining destination for locals in Oregon, particularly those residing in or visiting Portland, for several compelling reasons that align with the city's unique culinary preferences and community spirit.
Firstly, its reputation as a "neighborhood favorite" and a "hidden gem" speaks volumes. Portlanders often seek out authentic, locally-loved establishments that offer a sense of discovery and community. Mojos Sushi perfectly embodies this, providing a cozy and familiar atmosphere that makes customers feel right at home. The "nice atmosphere" and "good music" contribute to an enjoyable experience that goes beyond just the food.
Secondly, despite being described by one reviewer as "on the pricey side," the consistent feedback indicates that the quality of the sushi is "absolutely worth it!" This value proposition resonates with locals who prioritize fresh, well-prepared ingredients over just the lowest price point. The "good service" further enhances this value, ensuring that diners feel well-cared for during their visit. While some individual preferences might vary on specific rolls (e.g., fish-to-rice ratio, texture of a uni roll, or richness of a chef's special sauce), the overall consensus points to a high standard of fish quality, particularly for nigiri, which is a crucial aspect for discerning sushi lovers.
Furthermore, Mojos Sushi offers a diverse menu that caters to various tastes, from basic favorites like salmon nigiri to more adventurous options like the Chef's Special or a lightly fried "Crunchy Philadelphia" roll. This variety encourages repeat visits as customers can explore different offerings over time, ensuring there's always something new and delicious to try. The availability of multiple rolls, sake, and nigiri, as noted by a customer who tried "a bunch of different rolls, sake, nigiri" over several visits, highlights this breadth of choice.
Finally, its accessible location in the NE Fremont neighborhood makes it a convenient stop for many. Whether for a quick takeout order or a relaxed dine-in experience, the ease of reaching Mojos Sushi contributes to its appeal as a local staple. In a city that cherishes its independent businesses and strong community ties, Mojos Sushi stands out as a reliable and cherished spot for delicious, quality sushi right in the neighborhood.

Mojos Sushi Reviews
I love salmon ⭐⭐⭐- it's pretty basic- one roll of avocado with a very small sake on top, I wish it had more- I would reorder the salmon nigiri thoughUni roll ⭐⭐⭐⭐- would fall apart very easily, I was a little disappointed by that- some didn't taste amazing to me but honestly was the one I was craving the most- it was light and was what I was feelingCrunchy Philadelphia ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨- pretty solid but I didn't love the smoked taste sometimes- I do like how lightly it was friedChef's special ⭐⭐⭐✨- my partner gave this a 5/5 but I found this to be too creamy and rich- the sauce in particular was a little too much for me- liked the crab
March 29 · Nicoleover several visits - tried a bunch of different rolls, sake, nigiri. on the pricey side but absolutely worth it! nice atmosphere, bit cramped but good service and music 👍
January 31 · erin eThe best experience in Portland so far for sushi. Super inviting and very friendly. My only feedback would be to cut down on the disinfectant as the smell fills the space and can make it hard to taste the foods without that lingering in the air. Other than that after being there one time I won't go anywhere else. Love this place!
June 13 · Kiew NikonSo glad we found this place! Out of all the places in Portland we've ever been to this place has the freshest and most delicious sushi! I've traveled from Southern California to Seattle and this is by far one of the best sushi places I've ever come across! Can't go here enough! They have the friendliest staff and service is top quality!
May 27 · KogMojos Sushi is a nice, small, hole in the wall Sushi joint. The prices are a bit higher than I like, but the food is fresh, they have a decent menu with lots of choices. The food was served in a timely manner and presented very nicely. All the food was great, the miso was great, the beers cold and the service was a bit uncomfortable, but there was no wait, the place was quiet and we all left full and Happy. We will go back, definitely.
