Jan 11, 2025 · KristineBeen seeing this all over socials, so why not try it?Parking: There’s a large parking lot with plenty of spots.Ambiance/Environment: It was very difficult to find this spot. They’re located in the corner of this plaza with only one sign in front of the entrance. As big as it is, I recommend having at least one more sign in the corner or arrows directing customers to the entrance. After finding the entrance, I noticed their indoor space was definitely large. There’s plenty of seating with a bar. Very clean inside. Love the small river decor.Service: We were greeted by a host and seated immediately. There were 4 servers that assisted us. Everyone was courteous, quick, & efficient. Some servers do need to work on their knowledge of the menu and offerings. Almost every question I asked about the menu, the server didn’t know the answer and had to ask someone else to get an answer.Foods: The menu is definitely overwhelming. They have a large menu filled with sushi, small plates, yakitori, drinks, etc. Although everything tasted amazing and flavorful, I highly recommend reducing the menu. I really enjoyed the sides from the happy hour menu. The fish was clean and fresh. The fries were definitely crispy. The beef & mushroom nabe contained a generous amount of meats; the soup was a bit salty. The ribeye steak tasted absolutely flavorful with the steak sauce! I was disappointed with the jumbo shrimp bc it was burnt.1) Potato salad2) Ajitsuke tamago3) Spicy tuna salad4) Premium kaki fries5) Small sashimi combo6) Pork belly (yakitori)7) Japanese soy beef & mushroom nabe8) Jumbo shrimp (yakitori)9) Japanese style ribeye steakPricing: The ambiance is great, the menu is overwhelming, the servers were courteous, and the food was delicious. Overall, I enjoyed my visit.
Apr 03, 2025 · Millena P.We came here for dinner on a Sunday night. They weren’t busy at all, so we were able to walk in. My first thoughts were that the interior design was quite nice. The wooden decor and warm lighting made me feel immersed in an Izakaya setting. They even had a bar, so I couldn’t help but order a drink. The lychee highball made with Suntory whiskey was perfect - it was like I was back in Japan.Unfortunately, I felt that this was one of those situations where the aesthetic value of a restaurant trumped its food quality. Although the ambiance was cozy and delightful, I found the food to be a bit lacking. We started with salmon sashimi. I wanted to try the Ootoro special, but they were all out of toro. I don’t think I missed out though - the salmon was a little fishy. Not terrible, but definitely not the freshest. For yakitori, we got the pork belly and chicken thigh, both of which were a little bland. They give you salt at your table but… I don’t know - I’ve never liked that excuse. I actually did really like the ebi mayo though. It had a good sauce. For our entrees, we got katsudon and yakisoba, neither of which I was too impressed by. They just felt a bit mundane to me - I’ve definitely had better. Honestly, I wouldn’t have minded paying what I did if the food was a little better, but everything just kinda fell a bit flat for me.The service was honestly pretty good. Our servers and host were all very nice and attentive. But I just didn’t enjoy the food very much... it was kinda bland. And I was a bit tipsy too.. bar food always tastes better when you’ve had a drink. If it wasn’t good while I was drinking up, I can’t imagine how it would be sober.
Mar 14, 2025 · Cody PhamGreat for Date Nights & Group Hangouts! This spot is perfect for a date night or a casual hangout with friends. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff was very helpful, providing fast and efficient service. The hand rolls and sushi were excellent, fresh, and well-prepared. The fried octopus and yakitori were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. However, the Chicken Katsu was both dry and overly salty. Additionally, I’d love to see a wider variety of udon toppings. One small improvement: it would be much more convenient if each person received their own menu rather than having to share one.Overall, a great experience with some fantastic dishes, and I’d definitely return!
