Mr.Sushi Introduce
Hello, fellow Las Vegas food adventurers! When it comes to finding that perfect local sushi spot, we all know the search can be a journey of hits and misses. Today, we're taking a closer look at Mr. Sushi, a Japanese restaurant located on West Lake Mead Boulevard that has garnered a range of opinions from our local community. Some diners have "absolutely love this little gem," finding it a delightful discovery with "delicious" food and "kind" staff, while others have encountered serious issues that have left a less favorable impression.
Mr. Sushi aims to offer a variety of Japanese and even some Mexican-inspired dishes, promising a "culinary journey." For those who have had positive experiences, the restaurant is celebrated for items like Baked Mussels, Gyoza, Mango Tango Rolls, and Japanese Lasagna, all described as "so good." The staff are consistently praised for being "kind as always," contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere. However, it's important for Las Vegas locals to be aware of the range of experiences, as one particularly concerning review detailed issues such as warm sushi, a hot dining area with no air conditioning, un-refrigerated food storage, and cleanliness concerns, which unfortunately led to a claim of food poisoning. While other reviews mention fresh sushi and good quality, these serious claims certainly warrant consideration. Mr. Sushi appears to be a place where experiences can vary significantly, so knowing what to expect is key.
Mr. Sushi is conveniently located at 7175 W Lake Mead Blvd #149, Las Vegas, NV 89128, USA. This address places it in the western part of Las Vegas, making it easily accessible for residents in the surrounding neighborhoods, including parts of Summerlin and other communities along West Lake Mead Boulevard. The restaurant is situated within a plaza, which generally means that parking should be readily available for patrons, adding to the convenience of a visit.
The location on West Lake Mead Boulevard, a well-trafficked road, ensures that Mr. Sushi is visible and relatively easy to find for locals navigating the area. Its placement away from the more congested tourist areas of the Strip might appeal to residents seeking a neighborhood dining spot. However, the internal conditions of the establishment, as highlighted by one review regarding temperature and cleanliness, are important factors for locals to consider beyond just the geographical accessibility.
Mr. Sushi presents a diverse menu spanning various Japanese and even some Asian-fusion and Mexican-inspired dishes, offering a wide array of choices for diners.
Dine-In Experience: Mr. Sushi offers a dine-in option, aiming to provide a casual and welcoming environment for meals. However, it's important to note the varying experiences in terms of comfort, with one reviewer specifically mentioning issues with the temperature inside the establishment.
Sushi & Sashimi: The menu includes a variety of sushi and sashimi. Patrons can find classic options like Salmon, Tuna, and Yellowtail nigiri and sashimi, along with a la carte options. There are claims of "very fresh sushi" from some patrons, though others had concerns about sushi being served warm.
Extensive Sushi Roll Selection: Mr. Sushi offers a wide range of sushi rolls, including popular basic rolls (e.g., California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Philly Roll) and an extensive list of specialty rolls. Noted favorites include the Mango Tango Roll and Japanese Lasagna (a baked roll). Other unique deep-fried and baked rolls like the "Fried Creamy Cali Roll" and "Volcano Roll" are also available.
Appetizers: A selection of appetizers is available, such as Baked Mussels and Gyoza, both of which have received positive feedback. Other options include Edamame, Tempura (Shrimp, Vegetable), Jalapeno Poppers, and various tartars.
Bowls and Plates: The menu features "BYO 2 protein bowls" (Build Your Own) and "Tasty Sushi Bowls." There are also traditional Japanese "Donburi" (rice bowls) like Chicken Katsu Donburi and Unagi Don. Bento Boxes are offered, often including items like teriyaki, California rolls, and tempura.
Noodle & Fried Rice Dishes: For those craving warm dishes, Mr. Sushi offers options like Fried Rice (Chicken, Shrimp, Vegetable) and various noodle dishes, including Udon and Ramen, as well as Stir-fried Noodles (Chow Mein).
Other Entrees: Beyond sushi and noodles, the menu extends to grilled items such as Teriyaki (Chicken, Beef, Salmon) and BBQ Short Ribs, along with Katsu (Chicken, Pork).
Beverages: The restaurant serves a selection of beverages, including "Honeydew Boba slush," indicating a variety of drink options.
Takeout & Delivery: Mr. Sushi provides online ordering for pickup and delivery services through platforms like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Seamless, offering convenience for those who prefer to dine at home.
Party Trays: Catering options are available in the form of "Japanese Cuisine Party Trays," including Popular Roll Trays, Maki Roll Trays, Vegetarian Platters, and Nigiri Deluxe Trays, suitable for events and gatherings.
Mr. Sushi's highlights and features are notably mixed, reflecting the varied customer experiences:
Diverse Menu with Unique Items: The menu is quite extensive, offering a fusion of Japanese cuisine, including unique rolls like "Mango Tango Roll" and "Japanese Lasagna," which have been praised for their taste. The availability of BYO bowls, bento boxes, and various fried rice and noodle options caters to a broad palate.
Positive Feedback on Cooked Dishes and Specific Rolls: Several reviews highlight the delicious taste of cooked items such as Baked Mussels, Gyoza, and the aforementioned specialty rolls. The "Honeydew Boba slush" also received positive mention.
Kind and Polite Staff (Varies): While one review mentioned kitchen staff being uncooperative and a manager hiding, other reviews consistently praise the staff for being "kind as always" and polite, particularly the cashier in the negative review. This suggests a varied experience with customer service.
Local "Gem" Status (for some): Some customers truly "love this little gem," finding it a favorite local spot they wish they had discovered sooner, emphasizing delicious food and a desire to visit often.
Food Safety and Environment Concerns (Significant): A major highlight, albeit a negative one, is the detailed report of warm sushi, lack of air conditioning, unrefrigerated food storage, and visible dust/dirt, which led to a food poisoning claim. This is a critical point of concern for potential diners and contradicts the expectations of fresh sushi handling.
Use of Paper Plates for Dine-In: One reviewer noted being "served on paper plates," which might detract from the dine-in experience for some patrons expecting traditional dishware.
Based on the provided information, specific promotions or happy hour details for Mr. Sushi are not clearly outlined or are contested.
No Happy Hour (Contested): One review explicitly states, "First there is NO happy hour as detailed by others here." This directly contradicts any potential expectation of a happy hour, suggesting that Mr. Sushi may not offer such promotions or that information about them is inconsistent. Locals should verify any happy hour claims directly with the restaurant.
Combination Deals & Bento Boxes: While not a "discount," the various "combo" options (e.g., "Mr. Sushi & Sashimi Combination," "Sushi Regular/Deluxe") and Bento Boxes generally offer a complete meal at a set price, which can be perceived as value for money.
Party Trays: For larger orders, Mr. Sushi offers "Japanese Cuisine Party Trays," which can be a cost-effective way to feed a group for events or gatherings.
Online Ordering (Potential for Deals): Restaurants often have special deals or discounts exclusively for online orders placed through their website or partnered delivery services (e.g., "Buy 1 Roll C Get 10% Off" or free delivery on first orders). Locals should check the online ordering platforms for any current offers.

Mr. Sushi presents a mixed bag for Las Vegas locals. Its location on West Lake Mead Boulevard offers convenient accessibility for residents in the western part of the city, making it a potentially easy choice for a local Japanese meal. For some, it has been a truly "loved" discovery, praised for delicious cooked dishes like Baked Mussels and specialty rolls, and for having consistently "kind" staff. These positive experiences highlight the potential for a satisfying meal at this establishment.
However, it's crucial for locals to be aware of the significant concerns raised by other patrons, particularly regarding food safety, the internal temperature of the restaurant, and cleanliness. Reports of warm sushi and unrefrigerated food storage are serious issues for a sushi establishment and should not be overlooked. While the positive feedback on specific menu items and staff kindness is encouraging, the negative experiences regarding the dining environment and food handling practices are critical factors that impact overall suitability. For Las Vegans considering Mr. Sushi, it appears to be a place where individual experiences can vary wildly, and exercising caution, especially concerning raw fish, would be advisable until consistent improvements are confirmed regarding environmental control and food safety protocols.

Mr.Sushi Reviews
My first time coming in and my last. It took me a few days to post this because unfortunately I actually had food poisoning as well as my sister. Not only was I served warm sushi the establishment it self was hot. I sat at the bar sweating there was no air, no ac not even a fan on. Sitting at the bar I started to look around as the prep the food in front of us realizing it was not place on ice or in a refrigerated cooler, not only that this thing hadn’t been cleaned in so long the container that held the seaweed had a think layer of dust that couldn’t be removed with a simple dust feather. When I explain to them our food was hot/ warm they said yeah is ok. They severed us on paper plates. I gave my food back I had completely lost my appetite and was overall discussed with how the food was stored and how dirty it was. To say is was warm in there would be an understatement it was cooler outside. All the the cashier was polite and understanding the kitchen staff was not. The manager hid in the back and would not come out and speak with us. I wouldn’t recommend anyone coming and eating at this establishment until they clean it, get some refrigerated coolers to store the food and ac. You can’t serve sushi in that kind environment more people are bound to get sick.

Dec 22, 2023 · Sami WoodI ordered the spicy salmon roll. Which on the photo is 90% spicy salmon. When food arrived it was 10% spicy salmon and 90% cucumber. False advertisement.
May 20, 2025 · Alexis GrassropeThe food was pretty good, I got the Bento box and it was alot of food and it was really good. I had the chicken Katsu and it was fresh without being overly oily. Everything was fresh with pretty quick service. Overall good, I would recommend it.
May 23, 2024 · Cassitude 22Ordered take out, I got California crunch roll, they forgot wasabi and ginger and soy with the order, Didn't have those ingredients at home so it was like eating baby powder on a roll and was pretty unfulfilling. Garlic edamame was sorta bland in flavor. Meh
