New Japan Restaurant Reviews
Japan would be well within its rights to sue this place for defamation of character. The best thing I can say is that the food was edible, and even that was a stretch. The hibachi chicken was exceptionally dry, without any seasoning or sauce, and the "fried" rice was white rice that had perhaps lightly grazed the grill before it was slopped into a takeout container. I'm glad I got some of the wateriest white sauce known to man to accompany my dish, as it provided the only hint of moisture in the entire meal.I visited this restaurant once before, in 2023, and back then it was passable. If you, too, haven't been back in a while, save yourself the trip. Mall food court hibachi would be a better alternative to this, and probably cheaper, too.
Apr 07, 2025 · Katie RiceI don’t like to complain or leave bad reviews but I must warn others as I’d want to be warned. The food used to be good. Now it’s subpar. Upon arriving, I asked for extra white sauce and ginger because the containers are only filled halfway. He said I’m only allowed 12 which is really six because they aren’t full. I said I can pay for extra. He said I can only have 12. I insisted as that’s crazy to refuse me what I’m willing to purchase. First star deletion. When we begin eating, my husband said his hibachi chicken tastes strange. It indeed had a strange taste. I’m not sure if it was the chicken or the seasoning but I’m sure the chicken is the culprit. Second star deletion. My hibachi steak was in huge pieces, not cubed like usually and it was tough, not tender. Third star deletion. Lastly, I ordered shrimp tempura rolls, they were not freshly made. They were cold and nasty. I’ve never been given sushi rolls that are cooked/fried yet cold and hard. Fourth star deletion. If I could leave no stars, I would because I shouldn’t pay $62 for food and end up having to toss it and still be hungry. I’m not sure if the management/ownership has changed or what but I should have gone to Japan Express.
Dec 04, 2024 · Roslyn BarriosI use to really love this place but tonight I found a fingernail in my food. 😢 Sadly this will be my last trip to this establishment. How disgusting. I put my fingers in this photo to prove that it is not my nail. My nail beds aren’t that small. What of waste of my time and money.
Mar 09, 2025 · Cherry LynnOne of the things I usually do when I go into a restaurant. I check the sanitation rating, anything below 97. I don't eat there. Well, this time I didn't check it, they had a 94. With the level of service I received, I can see why they have such a low sanitation rating. I waited exactly 27 minutes for my food. No apologies whatsoever from them. That's the last time I'll get food from them.
Mar 14, 2025 · R Scott BeckerI had to return the food and get a refund because there was still dirt on the mushrooms in multiple plates that I ordered. This place has really gone down hill. Spend your money elsewhere.
