- Extensive Sushi and Sashimi Menu: Beyond omakase, Okoze Sushi provides a broad à la carte menu featuring a wide selection of traditional and contemporary sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. You'll find all your favorites, from classic tuna and salmon to more adventurous options, all prepared with meticulous attention to detail.
- Appetizers and Small Plates: Complement your sushi with a variety of delicious appetizers and small plates. Reviews highlight exceptional items like the "prawn tempura," described as "so crunchy but so light," indicating the quality of their offerings beyond just raw fish.
- Beverage Selection: To perfectly pair with your meal, Okoze Sushi likely offers a selection of Japanese sakes, beers, and other beverages, enhancing your dining experience.
Okoze Sushi stands out in San Francisco's competitive culinary scene due to several key features and highlights that consistently impress diners:
- Exceptional Freshness of Ingredients: This is arguably the most lauded aspect of Okoze Sushi. Customer reviews frequently highlight the "freshest ingredients" tasted, from "crab, to tuna, to prawn, to scallop, to wagyu, to pickled plum." This commitment to sourcing top-tier, fresh ingredients is the cornerstone of their superior sushi.
- High-Quality Sushi and Sashimi: The quality of the sushi itself is consistently rated as "excellent." Whether it's the precision of the cuts, the perfect rice, or the balance of flavors, the craftsmanship is evident in every piece.
- Melt-in-Your-Mouth Wagyu: A particular highlight mentioned by a customer is the wagyu, which "melted like butter." This suggests a careful selection of premium meats, prepared to perfection, offering a truly luxurious experience.
- Delicious Prawn Tempura: Beyond sushi, the prawn tempura receives special recognition for being "so crunchy but so light," indicating that their cooked dishes are also executed with skill and attention to texture.
- Friendly and Helpful Staff: Customer service plays a crucial role in the dining experience, and Okoze Sushi excels here. Reviews note that the "staff are friendly and helpful," contributing to a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere.
- Ideal for Special Occasions: While a fantastic spot for any sushi craving, the quality and ambiance make it particularly suitable for special occasions. One review suggests it's "definitely a spot for a 3rd/4th date," implying an upscale yet comfortable setting for memorable evenings.
- Intimate Dining Experience: While not explicitly stated, the nature of a high-quality sushi restaurant often suggests a more intimate and focused dining experience, allowing guests to truly savor each bite.
As of now, specific ongoing promotions or special offers for Okoze Sushi are not publicly available in the provided information. High-end sushi restaurants often focus more on the consistent quality of their ingredients and the skill of their chefs rather than daily deals. However, it's always a good idea to check their official website or social media channels directly before your visit, as restaurants occasionally introduce seasonal specials, holiday menus, or unique tasting events.
Given the nature of Okoze Sushi as a place for "excellent quality sushi" that "can get pricey quickly," it's more likely that any promotions would involve special omakase experiences, chef's tasting menus for specific occasions, or perhaps loyalty programs for repeat customers, rather than discounts on individual items. For the most current information on any potential offers, a quick call to the restaurant or a visit to their online presence would be the best approach for Californians planning their visit.

Okoze Sushi Reviews
A wonderful evening at Okoze with Jason, doing a vast taster session for us organised by some amazing friends. Some of the freshest ingredients I’ve ever tasted! From crab, to tuna, to prawn, to scallop, to wagyu, to pickled plum and a wild array in between this was a fantastic evening and wonderful meal. A special shout out to the prawn tempura we started with, so crunchy but so light! Plus the wagyu that melted like butter!Highly recommend a visit to Okoze for truly beautiful and tasty food.
October 27 · Jo KExcellent quality sushi! I would definitely eat here again. Probably need to set aside some money for the meal as it can get pricey quickly. Definitely a spot for a 3rd/4th date. The staff are friendly and helpful. Arrive outside the busy eating hours for impromptu seating.
June 26 · Nolan RumbleDon't understand how this place got its high average review... fake reviews or just people in Russian Hill who don't know any better? Came here two years ago and promised never to come again due to weird-smelling fish. Decided to give it another chance and regretted it:1. Very average quality sushi (strip mall quality, at best).2. Extremely high prices for what it is.3. Decor and vibe are also strip mall.Do yourself a favor and go to Elephant Sushi instead (1 min walk). It's more of a 2 star but I'm giving a 1 star because the average needs to be brought down 😬. I really do hope the owners fix the value equation because I live a block away and would love to have better local sushi options.
April 09 · Matt SchillerThe food here was amazing! Highly recommend. We came in for a late seating so it wasn’t overly busy. The maki rolls were very unique and extremely delicious. Get the bluefin tuna sashimi, this is the best dish I’ve had at any sushi restaurant.
February 09 · Candice FaulDelicious Japanese food in Russian Hill. Quality fresh fish shines bright in Okoze’s dishes. The Monk fish liver was real tasty and well prepared. If you know you know. The Hamachi kama was on point as well. It had a nice texture and was a good size. The seaweed salad was good and the shrimp tempura was a throw away dish. The meal wasn’t cheap but would I come back? Sure.
