In the heart of Houston's bustling Galleria, RAKKAN Ramen - Galleria has quickly become a standout, redefining what many of us expect from traditional ramen with its innovative, plant-based broths.
RAKKAN Ramen isn't just another ramen spot; it's a culinary philosophy born from a small, four-seater shop in Tokyo in 2011, founded by CEO Ryohei Ito. Their mission is to craft authentic Japanese ramen with a focus on 100% plant-based broths, meticulously simmered to extract deep umami flavors without relying on meat or seafood. This unique approach means that whether you're a dedicated vegan, a meat lover, or simply curious, you'll find a bowl that's both "incredibly flavorful and tasty." Patrons have called their ramen the "most successfully executed" they've ever had, praising the "warm welcome, great menu and recommendations," and "strong drinks." It’s a place where you can dive into a bowl of their celebrated "Spicy Quartz" ramen, enjoy fresh sushi, or indulge in delightful Japanese desserts, making it a must-visit for any Texan seeking a truly enjoyable and innovative ramen experience.

RAKKAN Ramen - Galleria Reviews
This was the most successfully executed Ramen I’ve ever had. I genuinely wish there were more stars. Daniel made this experience so enjoyable! Greeted with a warm welcome, great menu and recommendations, and strong drinks and empty ramen bowls all around. This won’t be my last time here! Definitely try the Spicy Quartz and any drink that ends in Ini. And the desserts!
Apr 11, 2025 · jaida swansonVery good ramen. I tried their Texas Jiro Ramen and it was really flavorful. It was spicy but not spicy enough for me but luckily they have some hot oil at the table and that hit the spot. I also got some salmon sushi and it was pretty good as well
Mar 30, 2025 · Cristian MunozThe last-minute decision to try this place out has become one of the best decisions. They are known for their ramen based on previous reviews, but I strongly suggest getting the Spicy Hotate (lightly seared scallop sushi). It's one of the best ones I've ever tried in Houston (up to par with the scallop sushi I tried in Tokyo), and it's not too spicy that it'll take away from the flavor. I absolutely enjoyed their Matcha Tiramisu - not overly sweet and a good balance of matcha.Daniel's service was unmatched. If you need an in-depth explanation of the menu, he is your guy. His friendliness and professionalism definitely guaranteed I'll be returning to this location.
Apr 02, 2025 · JermaineHands down, this was the best experience that I’ve experienced at a Rakkan Ramen location, especially in comparison to the other locations that I’ve been to in Houston, Los Angeles, and Long Beach 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼The food was super on point and flavorful! The service provided by Juan was superb – super kind, nice and attentive. Thank you so much Juan! 🙏🏼
Mar 24, 2025 · Makai TranWe stopped by for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were seated right away—plenty of indoor and outdoor seating made for a comfortable experience. From the start, the service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the menu in detail, making us feel well taken care of.To start, we ordered a variety of appetizers to sample. The vegan bun had a nice flavor, though the filling was a bit cold—not sure if that was intentional. The spicy cucumber, however, was a standout, delivering the perfect balance of heat and crunch. The crispy vegan gyoza lived up to its name in texture, but the filling wasn’t quite to our liking. The aburi salmon, on the other hand, was fresh, thinly sliced, and absolutely delicious. The highlight of our appetizers? The chicken karaage! Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and perfectly paired with RAKKAN’s signature sriracha sauce—it was an instant favorite. For the main course, I opted for the Spicy Garnet ramen with chicken chashu. The broth was rich, flavorful, and well-balanced, while the noodles were cooked to perfection. Every bite was deeply satisfying without being overwhelming.Overall, this place delivered on food, service, and atmosphere. We loved our experience and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend giving it a try!
