Ringo ~ by Hemmi Reviews
Had lunch here to celebrate my uncle and sister’s birthday and it was really nice! The food was delicious and very satisfying. We loved the udon and the nigiri that we ordered! The staff was also super nice, our waitress was super sweet and made a nice dessert for the two and sang happy birthday! I’ve already recommended this place to a few friends! :)
Mar 19, 2023 · Jess WangWhat a hidden gem! Authentic Japanese sushi and small plates restaurant. Run by Japanese head chef and Japanese staff. The service was great and the chef even came to escort us out to the door! The quality of the fish for sashimi was above average and they even have fresh myoga on the sashimi set. Everything melted in our mouth and our favorites were the scallop, hamachi, salmon, and fatty tuna.Surprisingly, what stole the show was the Inaniwa ume udon! The broth was a different level of umami and the noodle's texture was a cross between typically udon and ramen noodle chewiness. The ume was a delightful contrast of flavor. We also enjoyed the chawamushi which had a crab gravy on top and the egg custard texture was silky smooth. However, it needs a tad bit more seasoning to enhance the delicateness.Overall, we enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back.📸Sashimi Moriawase ❤️Tempura MoriawaseSpicy Tuna MakiChawamushi❤️Tokyo ChickenTofu & Nasu AgedashiRice Set (Best Miso Soup) ❤️Inaniwa ume udon❤️Hot Sake ❤️
Feb 25, 2023 · Jenny PFantastic place for pub-style Japanese food. The tsukune skewers and ebi tendon (tempura over rice) stole the show! The tempura was reminiscent of Japan. The service was fantastic, and there wasn’t a bad dish. All I can say is it’s a one of one Japanese restaurant in Chicago. I’m so glad we found this place! Also, I saw the chef serve omakase at the bar, and the menu has solid sushi options such as bluefin tuna (fatty) and salt-water eel (anago).Like I said though, to me, the skewers and tempura really stole the show. Please visit as it’s a restaurant that deserves way more recognition!
Jul 22, 2023 · David ChoGreat gem for Japanese with lovely service. The sushi was very fresh and some items like Uni and Hamachi collar were not on the menu so you need to ask. So happy that we asked because the Hamachi collar was very good. Prices are reasonable and decor inside was very modern.
Sep 18, 2021 · wook kimThis is the best bang for buck place to get amazing high-quality nigiri. My favorite is the fatty yellow tail and salmon. They also provide real wasabi if you order nigiri. Ringo is an absolute bargain and one of my favorite sushi spots in Chicago
