Rokbonki Japanese Steakhouse Reviews
Service was great and fast, pretty quiet on a weekday. Food was decent just a little bland, although I've had better at some other Japanese Steak Houses. Standard menu offering a little bit of everything. $10 big boy Sapporo's is nice.
Nov 13, 2024 · Sauce Firstmy favorite!+UPDATED REVIEW+It won't let me change the 5 star review to 2So bummed out at my last experience. I have been eating here for 14 years, spent $1000s because in my mind it was the best. I always got the the rokbonki special with egg yolk sauce on rice and spicy garlic on lobster. Our experience 2 weeks ago the flavor was nothing but oil. The egg yolk sauce wasn't golden by any means, it was a pale yellow and had no flavor. The lobster was over cooked, the chef didn't use any seasoning on the steak ...it tasted like oily meat. My wife left the food in the car over night and I kid u not we have an oil spot on the floor of the car. Once the twins sisters sold to chef John it was still very good. Seems like new owners are trying to save a buck and live off the good name of rokbonki. As we were eating and i mean a few minutes after the chef left the table we were given the to go cartons as if to say lets hurry up.I guess all good things come to an end unfortunately. Thanks for the many years of delicious food but we won't be back.
Apr 14, 2025 · Mark LipowskiLike in a usual hibachi grill, the cooking was always fun and entertaining. But the food was good but not really tasty. It was flavored with soy sauce and oyster sauce and thats it. We drove 10 miles to come here and try their food. I would say it was the on the spot cooking that made the experience.
Jun 17, 2024 · ManskiSome of us went there with our famies the other day. The food is not bad. The chef was pretty good. The waitress did not come around very often, especially when it came time for the dessert. It took approximately 10 minutes for her to show up. Also the place is somewhat dated and lacks any type of authenticity regarding hibachi style ambiances.
Apr 12, 2024 · R JWorth the price…. The combinations and single meat dishes include - Salad, soup, rice, noodles and ice cream + the protein you order. The service was very quick and we got our food ready in front of us in less than 30 mins after we seated. The place decently busy for a Friday.I ordered Chicken and Shrimp combination - Hibachi Chicken and Spicy garlic ShrimpMy girlfriend ordered Teriyaki Chicken with Salmon. In the end we were ask which ice cream and we both ordered rainbow Sherbet.Everything was really good. Except they didn’t have any Yum Yum sauce and no house made hot sauce.Definitely worth trying.
