Apr 08, 2025 · Leo ProseUgh I wanted to love this place. We drove 45 minutes at the recommendation of a server in Georgia. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was exceptional. The food was meh. The asparagus and dumpling appetizers were good. The sushi was not fresh and the rolls were SO overfilled with rice. The rice to other ingredients ratio was way off and just ruined it. I ate the good stuff out of the middle and ended up with a plate piled high of just rice.
Dec 30, 2024 · LindsayWe stopped by on our way through Franklin. We ordered tempura and a spicy tuna roll for an appetizer. Tempura was very good however the spicy tuna left much to be desired. The rice was dry and a bit crunchy and the tuna was off colored we ordered hibachi teriyaki steak and fillet with shrimp for dinner. This part of the meal was delicious will cook and prepared with a nice portion size. Service was excellent and spot on. With everything else being so good. I would attempt a another try on the sushi in case it was just an off day.
Mar 05, 2024 · Duncan AddisonI came here with my partner the day Sakura moved to its new location. We had never been to the old location despite driving past it so many times. The new location is really clean and spacious, and has great decor! We got a chicken tempura roll to share, with eel sauce on the side, and I got the chicken teriyaki dinner with noodles on the side. My partner got the clear soup as an appetizer, and I got a salad with ranch dressing as the precursor to my meal. The salad was good, but it was watery. The ranch was great, but there was a little bit of water at the bottom of the bowl, which made for a soggy salad. The chicken tempura roll was absolutely delightful! I've never had a cooked roll before, and I don't eat fish, so this roll was awesome to have. It was perfectly balanced, and I felt that it didn't even need the eel sauce on it. Finally, my chicken teriyaki meal was pretty good. It was a lot of food! The vegetables seemed like they weren't seasoned, which was an interesting choice. The chicken itself was flavorful and sort of spongey which was interesting. The noodles that came on the side were good, although I wish they had more flavor. Our server was Meagan, and she was fantastic. She was very attentive and understanding of the fact that we don't normally visit sushi places! Overall, we really enjoyed this place and would be back again to try more of the menu.
