Promotions or Special Offers
Specific, regularly advertised promotional offers for Sakura Japanese Sushi Bar are not widely detailed in the provided customer reviews. The primary "special offer" noted is the recent opening for lunch, which in itself is a convenience and value proposition for regulars who can now enjoy their favorite spot during midday hours.
While a "special" off-menu fried sushi roll was offered to one customer, its pricing and outcome were disappointing, suggesting that diners may want to inquire about the price and description of any "specials" before ordering. However, it is common for Japanese restaurants to feature lunch specials with set menus or combos at reduced prices, as well as seasonal rolls or chef's recommendations. Sakura Japanese Sushi Bar Reviews
We recently visited Sakura Sushi Bar. It wasn’t busy at all, but it still took a surprisingly long time for our food to arrive. I had asked for a fried sushi roll listed on the menu, but the server recommended a “special” off-menu option instead. I agreed to try it, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing. It came out on a tiny plate, the roll was very thin, lacked flavor, and definitely not worth the $20 price tag. I was really let down, both by the portion size and the taste. On the other hand, my husband ordered sashimi, which he really enjoyed. It was fresh, delicious, and well-presented—even though it was also on the pricier side.Overall, the experience was mixed: slow service, overpriced food, and an underwhelming fried sushi, but good quality sashimi.

Feb 13, 2025 · H WI’m surprised this restaurant has so many good reviews because the food is very average. I got the green (ginger) salad ($4.5), Hawaiian ahi poke ($14) and Bangkok paradise ($18) as a pickup order, which was way overpriced for taste. The green salad barely contained any carrots or red cabbage and mostly consisted of overly ripened romaine lettuce. The salad dressing was very watery and lacked flavor as well. The Hawaiian ahi poke was the best tasting item out of my order. It was indeed fresh and would’ve tasted excellent with a little more salt. My least favorite item, out of those I ordered, was the Bangkok paradise hand roll. The Bangkok paradise roll is described as spicy tuna mixed with basil leaves and cucumber, however it tastes like pickled cucumbers in mayonnaise. It was difficult to taste any spicy tuna. Overall, the flavors of the roll did not balance well, which made it difficult to eat. The roll would’ve have tasted excellent had it consisted of tuna and cucumbers tossed in chili sauce, sea salt, basil leaves with a hint of mayo and lemon juice to lessen the heat of the chili flakes. The food seemed fresher but just lacking in flavor. And the cost was way too high for the proportions and taste. I felt like my order could’ve come from a mediocre grocery store at best. Maybe other items on the menu are more representative if the restaurant but I will not be ordering again in the future to find out. I don’t recommend this to patrons wanting an authentic sushi experience.
Mar 01, 2022 · Elaina LynchSushi was good/fresh, a little expensive. My girls ordered the mermaid and pirate rolls - very good. I ordered the spicy salmon HR. Took 35 minutes for them to bring my girls' foo and 45 to bring mine (needless to say the girls had finished by the ). The waitress was sweet, but had forgotten whether she had brought me my food. Did she forget to put in the order? Was the chef exceptionally slow? No efforts were made to make it right either. The food was good, but the service left a bad taste in my mouth.
Sep 07, 2024 · Sarah FisherThis place is a go to! Never had a bad item and have been here a couple times a year for the past 5 years or so. Both of the sushi chefs have a lot of passion for this place and it shows in their sushi!
