Sakura Sushi Restaurant is much more than just a place to grab a quick bite; it's an experience. The focus here is on providing a comprehensive dining journey, where you can indulge in a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, and even appetizers and desserts, all made fresh to order. This strong positive feedback underscores why it has remained a local favorite for over a decade, consistently delivering on its promise of "quality food, quality service." For Massachusetts residents seeking an exceptional sushi feast, Sakura is a highly recommended destination.

Sakura Sushi Restaurant's main draw is its renowned all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi dinner buffet, offering an extensive selection that goes beyond just traditional rolls. Here's a detailed look at their services and menu offerings:
All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) Sushi Dinner Buffet: This is the star attraction, providing an incredible value proposition. For a fixed price (around $40 per person for dinner, with a per-piece charge for uneaten food to encourage mindful ordering), guests can order virtually "whatever you want" from a dedicated menu. All items are made fresh to order, not pre-made, ensuring the highest quality. This buffet typically runs from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM or 10:00 PM.
Extensive AYCE Menu Inclusions: The AYCE menu is incredibly comprehensive, encompassing a wide range of Japanese delights. This includes:
Appetizers: A broad selection of kitchen appetizers (e.g., Gyoza, Edamame, Shumai, Spring Rolls, Coconut Shrimp, Chicken Yakitori) and sushi bar appetizers (e.g., Soft Shell Crab, Baby Tako).
Nigiri and Sashimi: Various cooked and uncooked nigiri options, along with sashimi (often with specific ordering limits for sashimi on the AYCE menu).
Traditional and Specialty Sushi Rolls: A vast array of sushi rolls, including classics like California, Alaskan, Philadelphia, Spicy Tuna, and a highly praised selection of "specialty rolls" such as the "Christmas Roll," "Winchester Roll," and "Volcano Roll," which are customer favorites. Other popular specialty rolls mentioned include the "Sakura Special Roll," "Rainbow Roll," and "Dragon Roll."
Hand Rolls: Freshly prepared hand rolls for a different sushi experience.
Tempura and Katsu: Lightly battered and fried dishes like vegetable tempura, shrimp tempura, and various Katsu (breaded cutlets) options (e.g., Chicken Katsu).
Noodle and Rice Dishes: Offerings like Yaki Udon (stir-fried noodles), various noodle soups (Udon, Soba), and different types of fried rice (e.g., Japanese Beef Fried Rice).
Teriyaki and House Entrees: Cooked entrees such as Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Teriyaki, and other house specialties.
Soups and Salads: Options like Miso Soup, Clear Soup, and various salads to accompany your meal.
Dessert: Often includes ice cream as a sweet end to the all-you-can-eat experience.
A La Carte Ordering: While the AYCE is highly popular, Sakura also offers a standard a la carte menu for those who prefer to order individual items. This includes various sushi and sashimi platters, main entrees, and appetizers.
Lunch Specials: Available during lunch hours, offering combinations of rolls and entrees at competitive prices, often including soup and salad.
Dine-in and Takeout/Delivery: The restaurant primarily focuses on its dine-in experience, especially for the AYCE buffet. However, takeout and delivery options are also available for convenience, though some reviews suggest that takeout portions and value may vary compared to the in-house experience.
Sakura Sushi Restaurant shines due to several key features and highlights that make it a favorite among Massachusetts locals:
Exceptional All-You-Can-Eat Value: The primary highlight is undoubtedly the dinner buffet, offering a vast selection of fresh, made-to-order sushi and other Japanese dishes for a fixed price. This is seen as an "unbeatable" deal, especially for those with a big appetite for sushi.
Made-to-Order Freshness: Unlike traditional buffets, every item ordered for the AYCE is prepared fresh. This commitment to freshness ensures high quality, taste, and avoids the issues of food sitting out.
High-Quality Specialty Rolls: Customers consistently rave about the "specialty rolls," with the "Christmas, Winchester, and Volcano" rolls being particular favorites. These creative and delicious options showcase the chefs' expertise.
Wonderful and Knowledgeable Staff: The service receives high praise, with staff described as "wonderful and knowledgeable." This friendly and attentive service significantly enhances the dining experience, making patrons feel welcomed and well-cared for.
Quick Food Delivery: Even with fresh preparation for the AYCE, food is noted to "come out very quickly," which is a considerable advantage for diners, allowing for a smooth and enjoyable meal flow.
Long-Standing Local Favorite: The restaurant has a loyal customer base, with many patrons returning for "over 10 years." This longevity and repeat business speak volumes about its consistent quality and appeal.
Extensive Menu Beyond Sushi: While sushi is the star, the AYCE menu also includes a wide variety of appetizers, tempura, noodle dishes, and even ice cream, providing something for everyone, even non-sushi lovers.
It's important to note the mixed feedback regarding takeout orders. While the in-house experience is largely praised for "quality food, quality service," some recent takeout experiences have been described as "expensive" with "small quantity for the price" and less satisfying quality. This suggests that the restaurant's strength lies predominantly in its dine-in, all-you-can-eat offering.
Sakura Sushi Restaurant's core offering, the All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi dinner buffet, is in itself a significant and highly popular promotion. Priced around $40 per person (with a charge for uneaten pieces to minimize waste), it provides exceptional value for unlimited, made-to-order sushi, appetizers, and more. This structure allows diners in Massachusetts to indulge in a wide variety of dishes at a fixed, predictable cost.
In addition to their buffet, Sakura often provides other value-added offerings:
Lunch Specials: During lunch hours, they offer various "Lunch Entree Specials" and "Lunch Roll Combinations" that include soup and salad, providing a more affordable option for midday dining.
Third-Party Deals: Sakura has been known to partner with platforms like Restaurant.com, offering deals such as "$5 Off Deal" with a minimum purchase. They have also featured Valpak coupons, like "10% off any dine-in or takeout order" (cash only, not combinable with other offers), with specific validity periods (e.g., until June 22, 2025). It is always recommended to check current offers on these platforms.
For the most current information on pricing, especially for their AYCE buffet (which might vary for lunch or by age group, e.g., child pricing), and any ongoing seasonal promotions, it is always best for Massachusetts residents to contact Sakura Sushi Restaurant directly via phone or visit their official website. This ensures you have the latest details to plan your visit and make the most of their offerings.

Sakura sushi restaurant Reviews
Do not let the outside deceive you! This place is WONDERFUL!!! I have been going here for years and love the dinner buffet!!! They have a great deal where you pay about $40/person and pretty much can get whatever you want (with the exception that you eat everything - every piece you don’t eat is about a dollar or two). The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable. My favorite rolls are the specialty rolls (especially the Christmas, Winchester, and volcano). My sister introduced me to this place when I was younger and I have been going here for over 10 years! Take out is a bit exspensive so I do prefer to eat in house but no matter what, always a great meal at Sakura! Quality food, quality service! If I had one suggestion for the Sakura Staff it would be to label each of the rolls or tell as they arrive on the table. Sometimes, I get so many and I am unsure which is which! Other than that, 10/10 place!! ☺️
Nov 03, 2023 · ChristinaThe takeout orders are a joke:Expensive and not even worth it..I got order to go which doesn’t mean that it should be less good or less portions then what it should be in the restaurant.Tuna poke was spicy, and 10$ for 7 small piece of tuna is a no for me. I wasn’t expected this at all.Dumplings tasted old and were the size of my pinky. Tuna tataki tasted good but still very small quantity for the price.Very disappointed overall.

Apr 24, 2025 · ted lorenzettiIt is truly incredible sushi and service, especially for the price. Our favorite restaurant.
Apr 04, 2025 · Z HeathInteresting concept in that you order your food on a worksheet that is sent to the kitchen that prepares your sushi. You can order as much as you want as long as you eat it all. You can even order multiple times!.. Just order what you CAN eat because you will be charged for whatever remains uneaten. The sushi is very, very, very good. I've eaten a lot of sushi in my day, including in Asia and the far East, and this is good stuff. Go and enjoy. I will be going back for sure.
