My new go-to spot for casual Japanese takeout bowls.Since Sapporo Ramen relocated from its Porter Square location to this new food hall, I’ve stopped by a couple of times for a quick meal. Maybe it’s my bias toward Japanese food, but among the options here, Sapporo stands out as the most solid choice.Among the rice bowls, the Curry Pork Katsu is my favorite. Back in their Porter Square days, the pork katsu was underwhelming—often dry and over-cooked. But here, it’s been given a much-needed upgrade: crispier and juicier. A close second is their Beef Gyudon. The beef is not only well-seasoned but also has just the right amount of fat to keep each bite rich and satisfying.Unfortunately, their ramen remained unchanged from what I remembered at Porter Square. While the noodles were perfectly cooked, the broth still lacked the depth and richness. I did, however, find the Spicy Miso ramen to have a bit more flavor complexity than the house ramen.Much like their HMart location, this spot also offered pre-packaged sushi, and for the price, it was a solid option. The best time to grab one was around noon, as they’re usually made fresh in the morning—by dinner, the quality can be hit or miss. Mannnn that was bad. The pork dumplings were not good at all. I gave most of them to my dog. He’ll eat anything. The ramen soup was worse than the dumplings. No flavor, actually bad flavor.You know how much this awful meal cost including a soda, $40+ 🤯The restaurant is in the food court at the end of the shopping center along with other eateries. The directions to get there could have been better.I don’t recommend this place at all. Nice people but awful food. 🤢

I had a disappointing experience at Sapporo Ramen. The woman taking orders was incredibly rude, making the interaction so uncomfortable that I almost left without ordering. Despite this, I decided to give it a chance and ordered the teriyaki tofu bowl. When I asked what vegetables were included, I was told “cabbage,” but the bowl came with lettuce and a slice of tomato—completely unexpected and not a good pairing in my opinion.For $17, the portion size was small, and the bowl felt overpriced for what I received. When I requested spice, I was told I’d need to pay an additional $2 for a tiny packet of hot sauce, though thankfully one of the friendly male staff members gave it to me without charge. The men working there had excellent customer service, which was a stark contrast to the woman at the counter.As for the food, the teriyaki sauce on the tofu was decent, but the tofu lacked texture, and the lettuce was the only crunchy element—which didn’t work well with the dish. Adding some thoughtful, textured components would really improve the experience.Overall, while the staff (aside from the woman at the counter) was kind and accommodating, the poor service, underwhelming dish, and high price point made this a disappointing visit. I wouldn’t recommend the tofu bowl and would hesitate to return unless there were significant improvements.

I recently visited the updated Galleria food court and decided to try Sapporo Ramen. The ordering was simple -- choose a broth (which comes with toppings) and choose a protein.I got the house ramen (apparently a chicken and vegetable broth) with ground chicken. I thought it was pretty good, though the broth was too salty (and thus not drinkable). I liked the texture of the noodles and appreciated the amount of bean sprout toppings. The egg yolk was a bit overcooked for my tastes. Overall it tasted good but was too salty.I paid around $17 with tax included, which is not cheap for mall food court ramen. Given that Sapporo used to be at Lesley, I can see where the prices are coming from, but I would prefer to pay this amount at a standalone ramen restaurant.

Sprouts, scallions, and corn were nice and fresh. Good chewy noodles. Mild broth on the less salty side. Big chunks of pork. Portion is a bit small. Very friendly service! Overall a solid option if you’re in the neighborhood.
