Sasa Sushi

Sushi restaurant, Asian restaurant ★4.0 (118)·$20–30

7450 W Cheyenne Ave Suite #118, Las Vegas, NV 89129, USA

4.0
I feel like this place is a hidden little gem tucked away in the corner of a small shopping plaza (by a Capriotti's). My husband & I have dined here 3 times so far and though the venue is small, always seems to be full of diners. Service can be slow, but in our experience there might be only 1-2 servers working, so it hasn't been a big deal to us.The fish-to-rice ratio is great, sometimes more generous than some of the sushi restaurants in Chinatown area! It's also more easily accessible & doesn't have the nightmare parking situation that Chinatown has.All-in-all, it's a small, but great sushi venue if you're looking for a more quiet area to dine without the hassle of finding parking. My husband & I hope this place will stick around 😚 - Natasha C

What sets Sasa Sushi apart is its unwavering commitment to providing a superior dining experience, from the moment you step through their doors to the last bite of a perfectly crafted roll. They focus on the essence of good sushi: fresh fish, expertly prepared rice, and a presentation that elevates the meal into an art form. Location and Accessibility

Sasa Sushi is conveniently situated at 7450 W Cheyenne Ave Suite #118, Las Vegas, NV 89129, USA. This location places it within a small shopping plaza, easily identifiable next to a Capriotti's. For residents across Las Vegas and the surrounding Nevada areas, this spot offers excellent accessibility without the common frustrations associated with dining in more congested parts of the city.

One of the most significant advantages of Sasa Sushi's location is the ease of parking. As noted by a satisfied customer, it "doesn't have the nightmare parking situation that Chinatown has," making it a far more appealing option for those who prefer a hassle-free arrival. The restaurant's presence in a local shopping plaza ensures that finding a spot is rarely an issue, a considerable benefit in a city where parking can often be a challenge. This ease of access contributes significantly to its popularity among locals seeking a straightforward and enjoyable dining experience. Whether you're coming from work, running errands, or planning a relaxed evening out, Sasa Sushi's location is designed for convenience.

Services Offered

Sasa Sushi offers a comprehensive menu designed to satisfy a wide array of palates, specializing in fresh sushi and other Japanese delights. Here's a look at their key offerings:

  • Extensive Sushi Roll Selection: Sasa Sushi boasts a diverse array of sushi rolls, catering to both traditional tastes and adventurous palates. Their menu includes classic options like California Rolls, Tuna Rolls, Salmon Rolls, and Spicy Tuna Rolls. For those seeking more unique creations, they offer a wide range of "Modern Rolls" such as the Rainbow Roll, Dragon Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, and the highly praised "Lisa Lisa" roll (crab salad, avocado, shrimp tempura, cream cheese with crunch and eel sauce). Other inventive options include the Hawaiian Roll (for tuna lovers), Washington Roll (for salmon lovers), and the intriguing "Something Wong" roll (spicy crab, shrimp tempura, cream cheese topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, eel sauce, spicy mayo, mango salsa). They also feature baked rolls like the Sweet Lobster Roll and Japanese Lasagna Roll, as well as deep-fried rolls like the Cali Royale Roll and Pain in the Ass Roll.

  • Fresh Nigiri and Sashimi: Beyond rolls, Sasa Sushi provides a selection of fresh nigiri (sliced fish over rice) and sashimi (sliced raw fish). This allows diners to savor the pure, unadulterated flavor of high-quality fish, often highlighted by generous portions and an excellent "fish-to-rice ratio," as noted by appreciative customers. Common offerings include Tuna (Maguro), Salmon (Sake), Yellowtail (Hamachi), Snapper (Tai), and more.

  • Appetizers and Small Plates: To complement their main dishes, Sasa Sushi offers a variety of appetizers. Popular choices include Gyoza (dumplings), various Tempura dishes (Shrimp Tempura, Vegetable Tempura), and a range of salads such as Seaweed Salad and Cucumber Salad. They also feature unique items like Garlic Edamame and Spicy Cajun Edamame.

  • Kitchen Entrees: For those who prefer cooked dishes, Sasa Sushi also provides kitchen entrees. While the primary focus is sushi, some options may include Teriyaki dishes or other hot Japanese specialties.

  • Dine-In and Takeout Options: Sasa Sushi provides a comfortable setting for dine-in patrons. Customers can enjoy the "nice atmosphere with beautiful murals" while savoring their meal. For added convenience, takeout services are also available, allowing customers to enjoy their favorite sushi at home. They also offer call-ahead service, enabling customers to place their order and have it ready for pick-up upon arrival, as one reviewer mentioned, with rolls "being placed on the table as I arrived."

  • All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) Sushi: Sasa Sushi is known for offering an all-you-can-eat sushi option, which is a significant draw for many locals. This allows diners to explore a wide variety of their menu items at a fixed price, providing excellent value for those with a hearty appetite for sushi.

Features / Highlights

Sasa Sushi distinguishes itself through several key features that contribute to its "highly recommended" status among locals:

  • Exceptional Fish-to-Rice Ratio: A frequently praised highlight is the generous "fish-to-rice ratio," which customers appreciate. This commitment to ample portions of fresh fish sets Sasa Sushi apart from many other establishments, ensuring a satisfying and flavorful experience with every bite.

  • Freshness and Quality of Ingredients: Diners consistently rave about the freshness of the fish and other ingredients. This dedication to quality is evident in the "great flavors" and "delightful textures" described by patrons, making each dish a testament to their high standards.

  • Beautiful Presentation: The culinary artistry at Sasa Sushi extends beyond taste to visual appeal. Customers commend the "beautiful presentation" of the sushi, transforming each order into an aesthetically pleasing experience that enhances the overall enjoyment of the meal.

  • Quiet and Relaxed Atmosphere: Unlike some bustling sushi spots, Sasa Sushi offers a "more quiet area to dine," making it ideal for those seeking a tranquil meal without the stress of loud environments or difficult parking. The "nice atmosphere with beautiful murals" contributes to a comfortable and enjoyable setting.

  • Convenient Call-Ahead Service: The ability to call ahead and start an order, having it ready upon arrival, is a significant convenience praised by customers. This feature, especially valuable for those on a schedule, streamlines the dining process and enhances customer satisfaction.

  • Decent Pricing and Value: Despite the high quality, Sasa Sushi is noted for "great pricing," especially considering the portion sizes and freshness. This excellent value proposition makes it an attractive option for regular visits.

  • Friendly and Hardworking Staff: While service can occasionally be slow due to a small team, customers consistently highlight the dedication and positive attitude of the servers. Their hard work and attentiveness contribute to a pleasant dining experience, with patrons acknowledging the "decent service (considering timing, work load, and pandemic prevention measures)."

Promotions or Special Offers

While specific, regularly advertised special offers are not extensively detailed in the provided reviews, Sasa Sushi is known for its All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi option. This is a significant ongoing "promotion" in itself, providing exceptional value for customers who wish to enjoy a wide variety of rolls and dishes at a fixed price. AYCE deals are highly popular in the Las Vegas sushi scene, and Sasa Sushi's offering is a key draw for many local diners.

For any seasonal promotions, lunch specials, or happy hour deals, it is always recommended for local users to contact Sasa Sushi directly via phone or check their official online presence (if available) for the most current information. Many local restaurants introduce spontaneous or limited-time offers that might not be widely published, and direct inquiry is the best way to stay informed. Given the positive feedback on their "great pricing," any additional promotions would only further enhance the appeal of this local favorite.

Conclusion: Why This Place is Suitable for Locals

Sasa Sushi stands out as an exceptionally suitable dining destination for locals in the Nevada region, particularly within Las Vegas, for numerous compelling reasons. It embodies the essence of a beloved neighborhood eatery that consistently delivers on its promises of quality, value, and a pleasant atmosphere.

Firstly, its status as a "hidden little gem" speaks to its charm and appeal to those seeking a more authentic and less tourist-centric dining experience. Locals often gravitate towards establishments that offer a respite from the city's more overwhelming attractions, and Sasa Sushi provides just that. The fact that it's often "full of diners" despite its small venue underscores its strong local following and reputation earned through word-of-mouth.

Secondly, the outstanding quality of its sushi, particularly the "great fish-to-rice ratio" and the consistent freshness of ingredients, is a primary draw. For sushi enthusiasts, this attention to detail is paramount. Knowing they can consistently get "great flavors, delightful textures, beautiful presentation" ensures a satisfying meal every time, fostering loyalty among its clientele. The fact that its quality is sometimes even "more generous than some of the sushi restaurants in Chinatown area" is a significant endorsement from experienced local diners.

Furthermore, Sasa Sushi addresses a common pain point for Las Vegas residents: parking. The absence of a "nightmare parking situation" and its "more easily accessible" location make it a stress-free choice for a casual outing. This practical convenience cannot be overstated for those navigating the city's busy thoroughfares.

Lastly, the overall dining experience—characterized by a "nice atmosphere with beautiful murals" and generally "decent service" from hardworking staff—creates a welcoming environment. The ability to call ahead and have orders ready demonstrates a customer-centric approach that values a local's time and convenience. Sasa Sushi is more than just a place to eat; it's a reliable, high-quality, and comfortable local spot where residents can consistently enjoy delicious sushi without the typical Las Vegas fuss. It's a place where you can feel at home while savoring truly exceptional Japanese cuisine.
