4.0
The sushi was very fresh. The tempura was very good - thinly battered and super crispy. The chicken katsu and its sauce were very good. The back cod we had that day was unfortunately not good - it tasted bitter and had some wierd fishiness. We complained and got another one that tasted the same. Eventually they took this dish off the check which we appreciated. The service was good except for when we asked for water twice and eventually just didn鈥檛 get the water refilled. 馃槀 - Connie C

Shiki Introduce

In the vibrant culinary landscape of Seattle, amidst a plethora of dining options, discerning locals are often on the lookout for establishments that offer both authentic flavors and a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. For those seeking exceptional Japanese cuisine, particularly when searching for a "Doctor Near Me" (a platform category often used for local businesses providing services or goods, which in this case, would refer to restaurants providing the 'service' of food), **Shiki** stands out as a genuine neighborhood gem. Located conveniently at 4 W Roy St, Seattle, WA 98119, USA, Shiki is a family-owned Japanese restaurant that has garnered a loyal following for its commitment to fresh ingredients, expertly prepared dishes, and a dining experience that transports you straight to Japan.

Upon stepping into Shiki, patrons are immediately enveloped in an atmosphere that evokes the charm and authenticity of traditional izakaya restaurants found across Japan. The **environment** is designed to be both inviting and cozy, making it an ideal spot for a casual dinner, a family outing, or an intimate meal. The interior decor thoughtfully incorporates elements that resonate with Japanese aesthetics, creating a genuine and immersive dining experience. It's the kind of place where you can unwind and savor your meal without feeling rushed, even during peak hours. This warm and authentic ambiance is frequently highlighted by customers, who appreciate how it reminds them of their culinary adventures in Japan.

The **services** at Shiki are characterized by their attentiveness and genuine hospitality, a hallmark of many family-owned establishments. The staff, including the owners themselves, are known for being welcoming and ensuring that every guest feels valued. Customers have noted the prompt seating, even when arriving close to closing time, and appreciate that they are never rushed to finish their food. While there was an isolated instance where a water refill was missed, the overall consensus points to a high standard of service that contributes significantly to the positive dining experience. This dedication to customer satisfaction is a key differentiator, making Shiki a place where patrons feel well-cared for and eager to return.

Shiki's **features** are rooted in its dedication to high-quality Japanese cuisine, with a particular emphasis on freshness and authentic preparation. The menu boasts a range of classic Japanese dishes, each prepared with meticulous attention to detail. One of the standout features is the **sushi**, which is consistently praised for its exceptional freshness. This commitment to fresh, high-quality seafood is evident in every bite, making it a must-try for sushi enthusiasts. Beyond sushi, Shiki excels in other traditional preparations. Their **tempura** is frequently lauded for being thinly battered and super crispy, a testament to proper technique and fresh ingredients. Similarly, the **chicken katsu** is highlighted for its perfect frying, maintaining its juiciness, and being accompanied by a very good sauce. The **pork katsu entree** also receives high recommendations for being fried perfectly and retaining its juiciness, with generous portions that leave diners thoroughly satisfied.

For those who enjoy a variety of fresh seafood, the **omakase sashimi dinner** is a highly recommended option. It offers an assortment of fresh fish, allowing diners to explore different textures and flavors. A particular highlight mentioned by customers is the marinated tuna with yuzu pepper on top, described as a "bright note" that adds a delicious complexity to the dish. Another notable aspect of Shiki's offerings is the generous **portions**. Compared to other Japanese restaurants, customers often find the portion sizes to be substantial, offering excellent value and ensuring that nobody leaves hungry. This makes Shiki an ideal choice for those with a hearty appetite or for sharing dishes among a group.

While the vast majority of experiences at Shiki are positive, there was one specific instance regarding the **black cod** that merits an objective mention. A customer reported that on one occasion, the black cod tasted bitter and had an unusual fishiness. Despite receiving a replacement, the taste persisted. To their credit, the restaurant promptly removed the dish from the bill, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction even when a dish doesn't meet expectations. This responsiveness in addressing a customer's concern further underscores Shiki's dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience.

Shiki also benefits from its strategic location. Situated at 4 W Roy St, it's a convenient stop for locals and visitors alike. Its proximity to **Kerry Park**, a popular spot for watching the sunset and enjoying panoramic views of Seattle, makes it an ideal dining destination before or after experiencing the park. Many customers have found it to be a perfect complement to their evening activities, appreciating the ability to easily park nearby, even if it means a short walk up the hill after a satisfying meal.

From a **promotional information** standpoint, Shiki's strongest advertisement comes directly from its satisfied customers. The positive word-of-mouth generated by real customer reviews, which highlight the freshness of the sushi, the crispiness of the tempura, the juiciness of the katsu, and the overall welcoming atmosphere, serves as a powerful endorsement. The fact that it's a family-owned establishment resonates deeply with those who prefer to support local businesses, adding to its appeal. Its phone number, (206) 281-1352, and mobile phone number, +1 206-281-1352, are readily available for reservations or inquiries, making it easy for interested diners to connect with the restaurant.
