Shogun Steak House of Japan Reviews
The food was very good, the waitstaff did a great job, everything was spot on from the first to the last. From rice, vegetables, steak, chicken, and seafood, everything is cooked in front of you and served fresh and delicious. The onion volcano is exciting to see and feel the heat from this fire. The sherbet in several flavors is maybe the part the kids enjoyed most.
Mar 11, 2025 · Jeremy SextonI've been celebrating New Years Eve at Shoguns for over 30 years with my wife and school friends. It's just a great way to end a year while enjoying a fine, fun filled meal.
Jan 27, 2025 · Rick James(1) It's way too dark (2)There was a dark looking pellet on the cooktop & the "chef" did not wipe it down prior to starting cooking. He dumped the bowl of rice/veggies for the fried rice directly on top of it. (thankfully I ordered steamed rice). (3) Soup & salad were brought out for 1/2 the table, then by the time the rest were brought out, the "chef" had already started cooking. (4) "Chef's" cooking order. I'm not sure why, but the cooking order seemed way out of order. He cooked all the shrimp at the very beginning. This included the appetizer shrimp & the shrimp that was part of the entrée for a few of the guest. He left the shrimp, even the appetizer shrimp, over to the side until the onion/squash/zucchini & fried rice was cooked, then he started preparing the chicken & steaks. Then he plates out in the following order: He hands out the steamed rice; then onion/squash/zucchini; then fried rice; then overcooked appetizer & entrée shrimp; then the chicken; then the overcooked steak, most that ordered steak ordered rare to medium rare. All the steak came back medium to medium well. Now, I'm not sure if you noticed, a few things were left out,... I asked the waitress after he passed out the onion/squash/zucchini, "Isn't there supposed to be mushrooms & sprouts with the vegetables?" She replied, "Oh yes, that isn't until the very end". What?,... I know it's been years since I've been there, however, the mushrooms & bean sprouts were always served along with/in with the other vegetables. Then at the end of the "chef's" cooking, he brings out the mushroom & sprouts, proceeds to cook these & passes them out. (5) Every item that the "chef" seasoned & cooked on the grill had NO flavor at all. I kid you not, I salt & peppered all of my food 4 different times. So I'm not sure if their seasoning is way out of date that it had lost the aroma/flavor or what, but even the 4 times salting/peppering didn't really make a difference. (6) The excess fried rice/veggies that were on the grill, the "chef" scraped off into a bowl. For the prices of the food, he should have offered it to our table, we paid for it. The "chef" proceeds to cleaning up the grill. Then he walks off.(7) My husband taps on my shoulder & tells me to look back. I looked to my left toward the wall, he taps & says "No look back this way, look down". Low & behold, sitting there "chilling" right there next to the wall, the entrance of our dining nook, there is a full size, big MOUSE!! This mouse is so comfortable & familiar with the surroundings, he looks up at us & gave us a "what's up" nod before he, walks, & I mean slowly walks towards the other dining guest table. He was not scared AT ALL, which lets me know, this mouse has been around this restaurant for some time. There was a teenage boy sitting at the other table in our dining nook that stated loudly, "OH MY GOD, is that a mouse?". Then our waitress said, "Oh my god it's a mouse". The gentleman, hostess, manager, the guy from the front of the house in the black suit walks over & states to the waitress, "oh boy, I guess we'll need to call the exterminators in the morning". Laughs & walks off. (8) Then our waitress brings (1) one cupcake to the table for 3 birthday guest & takes our order for dessert. They proceed to bring all of our separate tickets out with no sort of discount, comp of a single meal or anything. This means this mouse is crawling all over the cook tops, HENCE the black pellet, MOUSE POOP, on the cooktop that the "chef" dumped & cooked the fried rice contents on top of. It's crawling all over the prep areas in the kitchen, the chairs, tables, bathrooms, etc. This is unsanitary, disgusting, unacceptable. I'm even more disgusted the lack of customer service from the manager. He didn't even bother to come apologize or even talk to either party in our dining nook. We only ate 1/4 or our food prior to the mouse. BUT, our 3 dogs ate $73.54 of our 2 leftover entrees. Overpriced & unsanitary!! We WON'T BE BACK.
Apr 24, 2025 · Casey ChronicThe food is made with high-quality ingredients and is pretty standard for USA hibachi restaurant. I have had better Japanese steakhouse food, but the beauty of this place is that they make it in front of you which limits how much time and effort is put into a dish service was great atmosphere was awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the chefs perform!
Mar 11, 2025 · kenneth johnsonOur chef was great, customer service was great and I like how big the restaurant is. It is inside of the mall but not small. My only complaint is that they didn’t have the type of yum yum sauce I’m used to getting. The sauces were still really good, I ordered the steak and chicken hibachi dinner with shrimp appetizer. The food was delicious, lots of veggies, I was happy with the portion sizes as well!
