Somenya Boston Reviews
Home-made udon and soba with quality topping and flavorful broth! The server was super friendly and gave great recommendations. Will definitely stop by again to try the cold noodles when the day is warmer!
Apr 26, 2025 · Alpaca PacaI had Beek Sukiyaki with udon and the broth is so flavorful :) I really liked how fresh the noodles tasted too. I liked the Melon Creamy Soda, I thought I wouldn't cuz I've had bad cream soda but this one is really good! Don't have that nasty milky taste. Not suitable for large group. Small groups, please :)
Apr 29, 2025 · Naomi Ehimen Adebo-youngThis location hasn’t been claimed on Google yet, but we visited their second spot in Quincy and were thrilled to see they've opened here. We went for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The space is beautifully decorated, with thoughtful design details and plenty of eye-catching decor. We ordered the Koji Fried Chicken, Beef Sukiyaki Udon, and Kimchi Beef Udon. The chicken was incredibly juicy with a perfect crispy coating, and both udon dishes were full of flavor and served in generous portions. The menu has a wide variety of appealing options, so I’m looking forward to coming back and trying more. It’s a great spot for a quick, satisfying lunch or dinner.
Apr 15, 2025 · HannahTook me right back to Japan!I came here on a Sunday for lunch and they weren’t toon packed, and were instantly seated. Very cozy inside and the decor is very homey. There were so many fun options to choose from but I got the cold spicy beef udon and my friends got the hot snow crab udon and hot spicy beef udon. The udon was chewy and the cold broth was full of umami and a hint of zest from the squeeze of lemon. The combination of the broth, udon, and toppings, all add to an incredibly delicious dish. It tasted very similar to one I had while I was in Kyoto! The hot crab and beef udons were also rich and very flavorful.I ordered online a couple weeks later and the food quality and taste were the same! They served the noodles and broth separately so they don’t get soggy, which was a big bonus. The portion sizes were also the same as in person dining.Overall, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the ambiance was great. Not to mention the price was very reasonable with the dishes being from around $15-25.10/10 would recommend again.
Jan 19, 2025 · Kaitlyn HuangIt was worth the wait. We went during a time you would assume service dies down but we still had to wait thirty minutes to get in. I'm so glad we did! The Beef Curry hot soba was delicious and provided plenty of umami with a comforting feeling. It was topped with a perfectly cooked poached egg that added creaminess to the broth. The other dishes that friends ordered were also flavorful and delicious. The hot broths were a fantastic base for the ingredients. We got the Koji Karaage and Spicy Salmon Tartare as appetizers and they were the perfect start. It was hard to choose from the vast menu of yumminess. I highly recommend you add this place to your list of Need To Go restaurants.
