The staff's willingness to go the extra mile to fulfill requests or address needs contributes significantly to a positive dining experience. The culinary features of Songoku Hibachi and Sushi Japanese are extensive and diverse, catering to a wide range of tastes. A significant highlight is the availability of hibachi at "pretty reasonable prices," making this popular interactive dining experience accessible. The menu is notably broad, featuring "different options," many of which "come with miso or a salad on the side," adding value to the meal. For those who prefer sushi and sashimi, the "sashimi deluxe" is highly praised, offering "20 sashimi pieces and a roll (they gave us hollywood if I'm not mistaken) + 2 miso soups," indicating generous portions. The sashimi is noted for its freshness, and the "scallop was amazingg it melted in my mouth." Other fish also "taste great." The hibachi combos, such as "steak and scallops," are also well-received, with diners noting the "huge" portions. While some mentioned a "bit salty" taste for certain dishes like fried rice, it was often accompanied by an appreciation for its "very buttery" flavor, and one reviewer explicitly stated they "didn't really experience that with my hibachi combo." This suggests variability or individual taste preferences. The inclusion of ramen and "bento option" for lunch further expands the menu's appeal. The bento box was found to be "okay, good meat portion." While a poke bowl was a "bit of a let down" for one reviewer due to being "small, full of rice, too little salmon," this is a subjective opinion within an otherwise positive landscape. The consistent theme is the generous portion sizes, ensuring that diners receive "a lot no matter which dish you order!!" This commitment to quantity alongside quality makes Songoku a satisfying choice.
Regarding promotional information, while specific daily or weekly specials are not detailed in the reviews, the restaurant's reputation for "pretty reasonable prices" for both hibachi and other Japanese dishes serves as a strong, inherent promotion. The value derived from the "huge" and "massive" portions also acts as a significant draw, ensuring that customers feel they are getting excellent value for their money. The "drink menu" with its "different options" also contributes to the overall appeal, offering a complete dining experience. The fact that customers returned for a second visit during their stay in Port Angeles ("We went here twice during our stay at Port Angeles") underscores the restaurant's ability to satisfy and encourage repeat business, which is the most effective form of long-term promotion. Songoku Hibachi and Sushi Japanese Reviews
A pretty nice Japanese restaurant in town that also offers hibachi at pretty reasonable prices! I like their drink menu and they're different options they have! A lot of the options come with me so or a salad on the side! I also like the fact that they have a couple window units and dishes such as maybe the ramen... I also like the fact they have a couple options from the hibachi side even if You're not eating there in the main dining room area! The staff is also very nice but a little bit slow to respond at times... But they do try to make every accommodation whatever you want as best as possible! Everything tasted pretty well and although some people mention saltiness, I didn't really experience that with my hibachi combo with steak and scallops! I wondered about the price initially but now I have completely understand as there is alot no matter which dish you order!! Fried rice may be a little bit salty but not too big of a complaint and is very buttery!!
Mar 25, 2025 · jiggburyWe went here twice during our stay at Port Angeles.First time was because we want to have dinner at around 7h30 but every other restaurants close at 8. We ordered sashimi deluxe + hibachi 2 items (salmon + scallop). They also gave us a hot water which I lovee. Sashimi deluxe has 20 sashimi pieces and a roll (they gave us hollywood if im not mistaken) + 2 miso soups, also nice. Sashimi was fresh, scallop was amazingg it melted in my mouth. Other fish taste great also. Hibachi salmon and scallop was huge. The rice portion was so massive we left out some rice. Food for this meal overall, a bit salty but satisfying. That’s why we came back. The second time we went for lunch with bento option and a salmon poke bowl. Bento box was okay, good meat portion. Poke bowl was a bit of a let down for me. It was small, full of rice, too little salmon. I wish i have gone for another choice :)Overall great experience with sashimi, other dishes were decent and affordable.
May 02, 2025 · Hồng Anh NguyễnWe had the Love Boat for 2, fried rice and spring rolls. Three of us shared this and it was enough. Friendly staff that work together to serve diners.
May 26, 2025 · Becky MoralesOmg this sushi was literally so amazing! The hibachi was some of the best I've ever had. The portions were also large and filling. We tried the Goku roll, Port Angeles roll, lunch chicken hibachi and the lunch salmon hibachi. Our hibachi was only $12 a serving which was really cheap compared to some of the places we ate on our trip, especially for such a large lunch portion. We really enjoyed our visit and we're sad we won't get to eat it again until we visit Washington next. We highly recommend this restaurant if you love sushi.
Jan 07, 2024 · megan lynn pratherWe had a group of three right as dinner hibachi service started. We got our own table and had our orders taken pretty quickly. The soup was great and had a bit of kick to it. No salad, but those are never really impressive. We didn't miss it. The chef came out right around the time we finished our soup. The food was great, some of the best hibachi I've had in the country, and I've been to at least 30 different hibachi restaurants from coast to coast. The veggies had the most variety and included mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, onions, and broccoli (my favorite!). The portions were generous, and even though we ordered two extra servings of fried rice and veggies, our bill was right around $80 after tax. The next time I'm in the area visiting friends, I'm going to make sure we stop in at least once.
