Sora Japanese Cuisine & Sushi Introduce
For travelers passing through Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), finding a satisfying meal can sometimes be a challenge. Located conveniently within Terminal B, Sora Japanese Cuisine & Sushi offers a full-service dining option for those looking for Japanese fare before or between flights. While airport dining often comes with its own unique set of considerations, Sora aims to provide a dedicated space for a sit-down meal amidst the bustling terminal environment.
Sora Japanese Cuisine & Sushi presents itself as a place where you can enjoy a variety of Japanese dishes, from fresh sushi rolls to comforting ramen. The establishment is designed to cater to the needs of travelers, offering a spot to relax and enjoy a meal or a drink. It stands out in its section of the terminal as the only full-service restaurant, providing an alternative to faster, more casual food options.
Whether you're craving a classic Philly roll, a spicy tuna roll, or a warm bowl of miso ramen, Sora aims to provide a taste of Japanese cuisine. They also offer a selection of cocktails, allowing you to unwind before your journey. While opinions on airport dining can vary widely, Sora strives to deliver a convenient and pleasant experience for those seeking Japanese flavors within the airport setting.
Sora Japanese Cuisine & Sushi is situated within a very specific and accessible location for travelers: Terminal B, 3 Brewster Rd, Newark, NJ 07114, USA. This address places it directly inside Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), making it a convenient dining choice for passengers departing from or arriving into Terminal B.
Being located airside within Terminal B, access to Sora is limited to ticketed passengers who have passed through security. This ensures that the restaurant primarily serves the needs of travelers waiting for their flights in this specific terminal section. For those flying out of Terminal B, finding Sora should be straightforward once past the security checkpoints, as it's the only full-service restaurant in that particular area.
For travelers connecting through Terminal B, or those with layovers, Sora offers a more substantial dining experience compared to quick-service kiosks. Its location within the terminal means it’s easily walkable from the gates in its section, allowing passengers to enjoy a meal without having to venture outside of the secure area or travel to other terminals. This makes it a practical option for anyone with time to spare before their flight.
Sora Japanese Cuisine & Sushi provides several services tailored to the airport environment, focusing on convenient and accessible dining for travelers.
Dine-In Service: As a full-service restaurant, Sora offers a sit-down dining experience. This allows travelers to relax at a table or the bar while waiting for their food, a welcome change from typical grab-and-go airport options.
Japanese Cuisine Menu: The menu features a selection of Japanese dishes. Popular items mentioned by customers include various sushi rolls (such as Philly roll, salmon avocado roll, and spicy tuna roll) and miso ramen, providing options for different appetites.
Cocktail and Drink Service: Sora also offers a bar service with a selection of cocktails, like the Yuzu Bramble and Mount Fuji. This allows patrons to enjoy an alcoholic beverage with their meal or simply to unwind before their flight.
Full-Service Restaurant in Terminal B: A key service highlight is that Sora is noted as the "only full-service restaurant in this section of the terminal." This distinguishes it from other food outlets, offering a more traditional restaurant experience within the airport.
Sora Japanese Cuisine & Sushi, as an airport restaurant, has specific features and highlights that distinguish it for travelers at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
Sole Full-Service Restaurant in Terminal B: This is perhaps its most significant feature. For travelers in Terminal B looking for a sit-down meal with table service rather than a quick counter-service option, Sora is the only choice in that specific area. This fills a niche for those seeking a more relaxed dining experience.
Convenient Airport Location: Being located directly within Terminal B, past security, makes Sora incredibly convenient for passengers. You don't need to leave the secure area or commute between terminals to access it, saving valuable time and reducing stress before a flight.
Variety of Japanese Dishes: The menu offers a range of Japanese staples, including different types of sushi rolls (like Philly, salmon avocado, and spicy tuna) and ramen. This variety allows travelers to choose from lighter sushi options or a more substantial hot meal.
Cocktail Offerings: Sora stands out by offering a selection of cocktails, such as the Yuzu Bramble and Mount Fuji. This is a notable feature for those who wish to enjoy an alcoholic beverage while dining or waiting for their flight.
Relaxed Atmosphere (for an airport): Customers have described the atmosphere as "relaxed." While still in a busy airport, Sora aims to provide a more comfortable and less rushed environment compared to other fast-paced airport food establishments.
As an establishment located within a major international airport, Sora Japanese Cuisine & Sushi may not typically run the same types of promotions or special offers that street-side restaurants do. Airport businesses often operate under different pricing and promotional models due to their captive audience and specific operational costs.
However, it's always worth considering the following avenues if you're looking for any potential deals:
Airport-Specific Programs: Check if Newark Liberty International Airport or its concessionaire partners offer any general dining discounts or loyalty programs that might include Sora. Sometimes, airport-wide promotions are available for travelers.
Credit Card Benefits: Certain travel-focused credit cards or premium cards might offer dining credits or discounts at airport restaurants. Review your credit card benefits before your trip.
Airline Partnerships: Occasionally, airlines might have partnerships with airport restaurants, offering discounts to their elite members or specific ticket holders. It's less common, but worth a quick check with your airline.
On-Site Inquiries: The most direct way to inquire about any current specials would be to ask the staff directly when you visit the restaurant. They might have daily specials or limited-time offers that are not widely advertised online.
It is generally advisable to manage expectations regarding extensive promotions at airport dining establishments, as their primary value often lies in convenience and location for travelers.

Sora Japanese Cuisine & Sushi Reviews
Had a nice time at Sora! Great place to enjoy a meal while waiting for your flight, relaxed with friendly service and didn’t need to wait too long for the food. The cocktails were really good, we got the yuzu bramble and Mount Fuji. For food we got the miso ramen, Philly roll, salmon avocado roll, and spicy tuna roll. It’s the only full service restaurant in this section of the terminal. Recommend!
May 04, 2025 · Jeff CooperhouseDo not go here, it’s deceptive. Looks like a legit sushi bar but they sell you refrigerated rolls that are way overpriced considering the pisspoor quality. It’s frankly embarrassing. One hundred percent credit to the staff though, I feel bad, I’m sure they’re aware of how gross this stuff is. They did their best but they don’t do much more than serve it up. It’s embarrassing otherwise, the group next to me straight up went to Shake Shack and ate here at the bar.
Apr 11, 2025 · D-Rock The DinosaurIt’s bad really bad. 2.1 is a stretch. Dry sushi, the tempura shrimp were empty fried shells. I wasn’t expecting omakase but this was worst than seven eleven. Go buy a sneaker bar at the kiosk it would be a better investment.
Feb 19, 2025 · Philippe De abreuA solid meh! Don’t expect NYC quality ramen here. You’re at an airport. In New Jersey. The miso ramen broth had some flavor and wasn’t salty, but very clear considering it was a miso broth. Pork was fatty, but it wasn’t pork belly. Maybe shredded pork shoulder? Frozen corn, canned button mushrooms, green AND white onions (?), and half of a precooked hard boiled egg rounds out the toppings. Noodles were nice and firm but still a bit clumped together.Cashier and server were pleasant enough. Table wasn’t clean and had someone’s forgotten pill.Probably better than airplane food!
Aug 30, 2024 · Marcus WongThe food is actually decent for an airport restaurant, that's why it's sad to give them 3 stars. Also, some servers are great, others, not so much. Even the prices are not horrible. We came here because we had an hour and a half before our flight even begin boarding so I thought this would be a good time to get something to eat. The organization here is so bad, I had to shove the food down when it finally arrived because I was going to miss my flight. It took forever for someone to come to our table and then a tremendous amount of time to get our order.
