Sunny Teriyaki Introduce
Sunny Teriyaki, located at 15830 1st Ave S #103, Burien, WA 98148, USA, is a Japanese restaurant specializing in teriyaki, a staple comfort food for many in the region. As a local eatery, it provides a culinary service to the community. While the platform category is "Doctor Near Me," typically associated with healthcare services, for those in search of a quick, satisfying, and flavorful meal, Sunny Teriyaki can be considered a "Doctor Near Me" for their culinary cravings, offering a convenient solution to hunger. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview, incorporating both the highly positive and critical feedback available.
The environment of Sunny Teriyaki, while not extensively detailed in terms of decor, is implicitly characterized by the warmth of its staff. The lady who runs the place is described as "incredibly kind and welcoming" and someone who "always greets you with a warm smile and makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in." This suggests an atmosphere that prioritizes hospitality and comfort, rather than elaborate aesthetics. It seems to be a place where the human element of service significantly contributes to the overall ambiance, creating a welcoming space for diners. However, one review highlighted a practical issue within the dining area: a scarcity of condiments. The customer noted sitting at a table "that did not have sauce" and being directed to "collect what you want from other tables" when asking for dressing and spicy sauce. This suggests a potential area for improvement in the dining environment, as the convenience of readily available condiments is an expectation for many casual dining experiences.
The services at Sunny Teriyaki evoke sharply contrasting experiences based on customer reviews. On one hand, the service is lauded for its "genuine hospitality" and the kindness of the lady running the place. This high level of personal attention and warmth is a significant draw for many customers, with one even stating it's "not just the food that keeps me coming back — it’s the service, too." Such dedicated and friendly service can make a profound difference in a customer's dining experience, fostering loyalty and a sense of belonging. The restaurant's phone number, (206) 988-6244 or +1 206-988-6244, provides a direct line for inquiries or takeout orders.
On the other hand, a critical review points to a concerning aspect of the service, particularly concerning condiment availability and tipping practices. The customer was dissatisfied with being asked to retrieve sauces from other tables despite leaving a tip, especially considering that a tip of "at least 15%" is requested upfront when ordering. This raises questions about the expectation of self-service after a tip has already been paid, which can lead to a perception of poor value for the service provided. This discrepancy in service experience highlights that while some customers receive exceptional personal attention, others may encounter operational aspects that detract from their visit.
Sunny Teriyaki's features primarily revolve around its food quality and portion sizes. Enthusiastic reviews consistently praise the food as "always fresh, flavorful, and made with care." Customers claim they "can really taste the difference" and that "Everything is cooked perfectly." The portions are described as "generous," which is a significant factor for many diners seeking good value. One customer went so far as to call it "honestly the best teriyaki I’ve ever had," a strong endorsement given their experience with "a lot of places." The specific mention of "spicy chicken mixed" as being "really good," even for someone who doesn't usually order it, suggests a well-executed and appealing flavor profile for their spiced dishes. The fact that a child immediately recognized and desired the food based on its smell ("it smells like good food") further attests to its appealing aroma and overall deliciousness.
However, one critical review offers a contrasting perspective on the food. The customer found the food "not very good," specifically noting that the "white rice had no flavor." This suggests an inconsistency in food preparation or a particular preference that was not met. While this stands in contrast to the overwhelmingly positive feedback on flavor, it's an important point to consider for potential diners. The limited availability of condiments, with "only 3 bottles of dressing and one of spicy for this restaurant," also impacts the overall dining experience, as many people expect a variety of readily accessible sauces to customize their meal.
From a promotional standpoint, Sunny Teriyaki's most powerful asset is the fervent loyalty of its satisfied customers. The willingness of one patron to "happily make the drive just to eat here" despite living "45 minutes away" is a testament to the exceptional quality of the food and service they consistently receive. The strong recommendation, "If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out," acts as an incredibly compelling form of word-of-mouth marketing. The consistent praise for "fresh, flavorful, and made with care" food, along with "generous portions," are key selling points that naturally attract new customers. However, the negative feedback regarding condiment availability and the upfront tipping request without corresponding table service could potentially detract from future promotions and customer retention, as it creates a perception of poor value and service. Therefore, while Sunny Teriyaki has clearly cultivated a strong base of devoted customers through its delicious food and genuine hospitality, addressing the operational and service concerns raised by some patrons will be crucial for maintaining its positive reputation and attracting a wider audience in the competitive restaurant landscape. For those looking for a "Doctor Near Me" for top-tier teriyaki, the establishment offers the potential for a truly outstanding experience, provided the service inconsistencies are navigated successfully.

This teriyaki spot is hands down one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made with care — you can really taste the difference. Everything is cooked perfectly, and the portions are generous. It’s honestly the best teriyaki I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a lot of places. But it’s not just the food that keeps me coming back — it’s the service, too. The lady who runs the place is incredibly kind and welcoming. She always greets you with a warm smile and makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. It’s that kind of genuine hospitality that makes a huge difference.Even though I live 45 minutes away, I happily make the drive just to eat here. That’s how good it is. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out
May 30, 2025 · Rogelio BrionesI think the food is not very good, the white rice had no flavor but the worst of all is that they only have 3 bottles of dressing and one of spicy for this restaurant. I sat at a table that did not have sauce and when I asked the waiter for sauce and dressing he told me that on the table in the corner there was a dressing and on another table there was the spicy sauce. He got up to bring me the dressing and the spicy sauce. The worst of all is that they charge you when you order and they ask you for a tip, at least 15%. Basically, I left a tip so that when I asked for sauce and dressing, the waiter told me to get up from the table and collect what you want from other tables.
May 22, 2025 · Doroteo SanchezReally good food! I've been going to Sunny Teriyaki for a few years and am highly satisfied with the quality of their food and the friendly staff. They are also very fast! I ordered 3 teriyaki meals and they were ready in 10 minutes.
Dec 12, 2024 · John Lnot a big fan of teriyaki, but love this place! Foods are delicious (not salty, not greasy, just delicious!). Service is good. Dining area is super clean. I had Mongolian beef and it was sooooo good! Friends shared shrimp fried rice and yaki soba with me - I would have them next time. Spicy chicken also looks good. Unbelievable they serve this good food at this price!
