Sushi Freak Albuquerque Westside Reviews
I could tell the crew was unfortunately a bit strung thin but they got my order out right and in a timely manner. They were very respectful and helpful with any questions I had. This was my first time there and overall was a great experience
May 31, 2025 · Mad HatterThe food is good, if you can somehow order it. If you are able to order it online or by phone, then you should already feel privileged. After that, they start canceling items off the order, until you get to the point that either you or them cancel the whole thing (only half your family gets food today, sorry). We have spent more time trying to order or having to find another place to eat, than actually getting the food (30 minutes after we've ordered and think we have food being prepped, we find out it's been canceled). It frustrating, to say the least. If you really want to eat there, go in, hopefully they have enough product to serve your whole family.
May 17, 2025 · Dustin VaughnTo celebrate with myself a couple of my guilty pleasures I came into this restaurant and purchase two rolls. As soon as I walked into the room, the first employee I saw acted annoyed that I was even there. The wait wasn’t too bad, but when I got my food or should I say a dragon roll and caterpillar roll they were sloppy/soppy, but taste of good. Some of the other customers acted cold and moody. Even though it was only 10am. The rice was slightly undercooked, but aside from a bit of chewing not too bad. All around OK place to go for sushi, but not the best.
May 02, 2025 · Devin SpencerI don’t really like writing bad reviews, but after reading the previous reviews, this place needs a serious business makeover. I can’t tell if the staff are miserable because of what seems like lack of training, or if they’re just miserable. Nice-ish attitude at best, but don’t really seem to like their job.We ordered two burritos, which tasted alright in the end but took way too long. At the time of the staff making our order, only one other person had walked in. Four people behind the counter for a couple of burritos feels excessive. The Sushi Freak over on Academy and Wyoming are fast, efficient, and although I don’t expect people have cheesy positive attitudes, they are extremely polite. The only reason why we chose this location was because we were already in the area, and this was convenient. Never tried this one either, and I guess our expectations were too high.Overall, I genuinely think the store could do better with either retraining (and proper training) of the staff and process, or new staff entirely. The owner should do a better job with responses and actions instead of a lazy “here’s my email, I’ll try to make it better”.I hope something good comes out of this, because even though sushi freak is pricey, it could go a long way with better training, improved efficiency, and proper care of the quality of their food.
Dec 28, 2024 · Mamie-Jo HillThis location is terrible. Waited 20-25 minutes for our order to be taken while 3 employees awkwardly looked at us and gave us dirty looks, there was not even a “be with you in a second”. There were only two other people in the entire restaurant and they already had their food. Tried to be patient and understanding, but when placing my order the staff was super rude, got upset that they had to “go to the back for shrimp” then the person making the food was blowing their nose over the food and not washing their hands before touching the food again. After placing our order it took almost 20 minutes to actually get 2 burritos and a roll made, paid for, and handed over. The roll was so poorly made it fell apart before you could even pick it up, the burritos were made wrong and fell apart. Terrible experience, never had such a strange experience or been treated so rudely for just ordering food.
