Sushi Land Introduce
In the vibrant culinary landscape of California, finding a local sushi spot that consistently delivers on freshness, flavor, and value is a true win. For residents of Hacienda Heights and the surrounding communities, Sushi Land emerges as exactly that – a "Great local sushi spot with some decent pricing!" While it might appear "unsuspecting" from the outside and boast a "menu gives off a bit of a dated feel," its loyal customer base knows that Sushi Land is a "hidden gem" where "you really can't argue the classics when they're done well."
Sushi Land has earned its reputation as a beloved, small, family-run establishment by focusing on what truly matters: phenomenally fresh fish and expertly prepared Japanese cuisine. It's a place that evokes a "homey feel," offering a comforting and authentic dining experience that keeps patrons coming back for more. Whether you're a connoisseur of delicate nigiri, a fan of creative sushi rolls, or someone who appreciates perfectly executed Japanese appetizers, Sushi Land invites you to "Just dive in and make sure you mark off the ones you've tried because there are a good amount of dishes that were of value and quality here." This commitment to quality, combined with its welcoming atmosphere, makes Sushi Land a standout choice for anyone seeking genuine Japanese flavors in Southern California.
Sushi Land is conveniently located at 2129 S Hacienda Blvd, Hacienda Heights, CA 91745, USA. This address places it directly on South Hacienda Boulevard, a main artery running through the heart of Hacienda Heights. This makes it an easily identifiable and highly accessible destination for residents within Hacienda Heights and from neighboring areas across the San Gabriel Valley, including Rowland Heights, La Puente, and City of Industry.
Accessibility is a strong point for Sushi Land. Situated in a commercial area, the restaurant benefits from readily available parking options, which is a significant convenience in busy Californian suburbs. While seating might be "very limited," its clear street presence and ease of access by car make it a prime spot for both dine-in customers (when a table is available) and those looking for quick and efficient takeout. The location ensures that it's a convenient stop whether you're coming from work, running errands, or planning a meal out with family or friends. This ease of access reinforces Sushi Land's status as a true local favorite.

Sushi Land Reviews
Great local sushi spot with stone decent pricing!Seating is very limited and the menu gives off a bit of a dated feel but you really can't argue the classics when they're done well.Sushi rice had just a bit of tang and was light and fluffy.Dishes were presented very well and our server was thoughtful and cautious enough to make sure our table wasn't overflowing. We ordered about 6 items and by the 3rd plate things were crowding up.Blue crab avocado roll ($9) - A little heavy on the Japanese mayo and rice but it made for a great presentation on the plate it was on.Tempura mixed ($9) - 3 pieces of shrimp and 3 pieces of veggies. I'm on the fence with this one since I really enjoyed the presentation but felt like the batter on the shrimp was heavy and the veggies were mostly extra starchy items.Mini spicy tuna bowl ($9) - This was a pleasant favorite! Just the right amount of heat and a decent amount of tuna over that delicious sushi rice. The first couple of bites where the cold tuna contradicts the warm rice was like being able to eat that feeling of walking on the warm sand and letting the chilly ocean water cool you off.Amberjack/Hamachi Tuna ($5/piece) - This was interestingly a lighter flavor than what we were familiar with. The cut was thin but blanketed the rice with just a small swipe of sauce and a dab of yuzu paste on top. Playing perfectly well with the tangy rice but also all being a star of the bite while being clean.Grilled Tuna Belly ($12) - This was the star of the table. Lightly grilled with a bit of crispy edges, seasoned and topped with garlic and micro greens and paired with a dipping sauce on the side to choose how heavy or light you prefer to dip.Tempura Ice cream ($7) - Couldn't leave our first visit without trying a dessert item. Classic fried ice cream that is wrapped with pound cake and rolled in their delicious tempura batter. Saving room for this is a must if you grew up demolishing these in the early 2000s.Hidden gems are great to find and it feels like this place has a lot of classics that give you a homey feel where you don't know where to start. Just dive in and make sure you mark off the ones you've tried because there are a good amount of dishes that were of value and quality here. The best suggestion is to focus on the sushi and always check the sushi list.
August 05 · Gee VillsOn par with anything you will find in the Tsukiji Outer Market in Japan. The fish is phenomenally fresh, Small family run establishment. Modest atmosphere/setting with great food, what many would consider a "Hole is the wall."
February 08 · Anthony DSushiland was an unexpected surprise. It is truly a hidden gem. A Latino sushi chef and woman sushi chef (sorry didn't get their names) working it making delicious sushi and sashimi. The prices are very reasonable. They should be charging more for the quality of product they are using. The sashimi so fresh... I know it's summer time but I got the yosenabe udon seafood soup. It's was very delicious I tasted a hint of yuzu..it was super hot (temperature 🔥 🥵) and I couldn't finish all. The biggest deals are their happy hour menu $5 mixed tempura (shrimp and vegetables) so good and spicy tuna roll. Not your typical Sriracha mayo mix...there was a different type of spicy. So good and I think that was $5 too.Try to make it out to this amazing hole in the wall. It will be worth the trip
August 29 · Lori SakamotoHappy hour price for beer is great. The server is a really cute young lady. Food needs serious improvement. They use plain white rice instead of a sushi rice. The texture of the meats are tough and dry. The rolls fall apart easily. They have a blue crab roll but I'm pretty sure it's tuna or way past it's fresh date.
July 30 · J S.They have good sushi and rolls. I love their udon taste close to Japanese authentic style. Just see the quality of toro.
