It's important to acknowledge that like any long-standing establishment, occasional reviews might point to inconsistencies (such as an overcooked rice incident). Sushiya in Williamsburg, VA, offers various avenues for locals to enjoy their Japanese cuisine at potentially enhanced value. While specific, heavily advertised weekly deals might fluctuate, their menu structure and operational approach provide consistent opportunities for savings and convenient dining.
One of the most common and valuable offers at Sushiya is their Lunch Specials and Lunch Boxes (Bento Boxes). These are typically available during weekday lunch hours (Wednesday to Friday, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, and Saturday, Noon - 4:30 PM). These specials often provide smaller, more affordable portions of their popular hibachi, teriyaki, katsu, and sushi dishes, making them an excellent option for a midday meal. For example, their lunch boxes often include a main entrée with rice, salad, and other sides, offering a complete meal at a favorable price point.
Additionally, Sushiya's website indicates a "Promotion" section, suggesting they occasionally feature specific deals. While the content of these promotions can change, it's always a good practice for locals to check this section directly.
Other potential promotions or value-adds that Japanese restaurants often provide, and which Sushiya might offer or consider:

Online Ordering Discounts: Sometimes, restaurants offer a small percentage off for first-time online orders or for orders placed directly through their website or specific delivery apps.
Loyalty Programs: For a long-standing local business, a customer loyalty program or punch card system to reward frequent diners with discounts or free items is a common practice.
Family Platters or Combo Deals: Especially for their sushi or appetizer selections, Sushiya might offer bundled platters designed for sharing, providing a cost-effective option for groups.
To ensure you have the most up-to-date information on any current promotions or special offers, the best method is to visit Sushiya's official website (if they have a dedicated promotions page), check their social media channels, or simply call them directly at (757) 229-1212. Sushiya Reviews
This place use to be the best, some odd reason they went down ! Today ( 5/20/25 ) placed an order for shrimp fried rice , received the order rice was over cooked very mushy , still white no seasoning no egg and little to no shrimp. Took it back and got a full refund 0 stars
May 21 · Jaliyah WallaceOne of the best Japanese restaurants I have visited! 🤯 Service is great and the food is even better! You've got to try the Tempura and the Beef is outstanding! The sushi 🍣 is fabulous! A little pricey, but fantastic food quality. A hidden Gem 💎!!Still great!! Service is fantastic!
December 02 · Barry JudkinsThis is one of the best sushi places in Williamsburg, Virginia. The folks here are super nice. The sushi is fresh and delicious The rolls are huge (at least the ones we ordered but I'm not complaining!) and may be hard to fit in your mouth so beware! We wanted an early dinner so we came as soon as they opened. Make sure you check their schedule because they close after lunch then open up again for dinner. We also ordered their fried rice and yakisoba and those were yummy as well. We are fortunate that this place is away from "restaurant row" and near most neighborhoods in the Jamestown area.
May 17 · Jackie Berberabe - Real Estate AgentSome unique items in their menu. Everything we had tasted really good but they were out of some of the items on their menu that we wanted to try. If they have it try the habanero tuna, really good.
July 29 · Andrew AczelAmazing little restaurant serving some pretty decent sushi. The tuna was the most tender tuna I have ever had! Service was great and the sake was amazing.
